No to HR 1022, "Assault Weapons Ban" We the undersigned wish to express in no uncertain terms our outrage and disgust with the introduction of HR 1022: To reauthorize the assault weapons ban, and for other purposes. Let it be known, that we the undersigned swear an undying devotion to end the political careers of any public servant holding office who should dare to offer any support to this offense to our birthright to take up arms to defend our lives, our families, our property, our community and our country against enemies both foreign and domestic. We see it as absolutely essential that we retain our right, which is not granted to us by man nor able to be repealed, to maintain, keep, bear and train with firearms and ammunitions that are state of the art. HR 1022, or any bill resembling, is an affront to this right and our dignity as citizens of this fair nation and will not be tolerated. We are watching.
Please make your comments known also, they are posted next to your entry.
Time for an NRA PING I think.
That would be great.
BTW, thanks for all of your posts.
I dont know that these E-petitions are worth spit, but its worth a go.
But please contact your congress critter and senator and express your direct outrage over HR 1022
Probably not, but it can't hurt, especially if we circulate this via email, so that folks know what is going on...
Awareness of the issue is a biggie, lots of folks dont know that the bill has been introduced.
I had "conservative" GOP-haters tell me that it was OK to elect Democrats because they wouldn't "dare" try a gun ban.
You know, the double-double-cross crowd who will come out in 2008 to say that Hillary won't be so bad after all.
There are none so blind as those who will not see.
Hell, we've got a Yankee liberal of a president sitting in the White House that has already said he would sign an assault weapon ban if it made it to his desk.
I signed it- can't hurt, might help.
Over 13,000 signatures so far, which is pretty good for one of these things.
About 40 signatures were added while I was adding mine earlier.
And they made that argument too when I pointed out that the House needed to stay in GOP hands.
You need new acquaintances.
What I really need is minions. My life would be much better with minions.
:)

Does anyone know if there is a listing of all the newly-elected Democrats who (supposedly) ran and won on pro-gun rights platforms? If such a list were assembled, then THEY should be getting cards and letters -- not just from their constituents, but from people all over the country -- reminding them of the campaign promises they made....
