Zinc is one of the main ingrediants in ZICAM.
Besides the zinc and expectorant DM I also use pseudephedrine (or the herbal equivalent ma huang) and of course, vitamin C as the main ingredients of my flu/bronchitis cocktail. Sometimes clearing out the lungs is just a slow, tedious process that takes a few weeks.

re: sick...me too...massive throat, head, chest congestion for 7 straight days! I woke up with this last Monday morning. Worst stuff I have ever had in my life. Been using theraflu for 3 days now. Its just starting to break up. Non-stop coughing last night. Thanks to all for the remedy information.

Mine got better again when I upped the dose of Elderberry and the Curcumin now at ~1,000 mg 3X day.
ceyenne pepper was added. Wheee. May have been a boosting factor, too. Have to use sour cream or some such to coat my system for that!
