FreeRepublic Policy Statement
FrreRepublic ^ | Unknown | Jim Robinson

Posted on 03/03/2007 5:38:03 PM PST by ZULU

"Therefore, we wholeheartedly support the Bush Doctrine of pre-emptive strikes on known terrorist states and organizations that are believed to present a clear threat to our freedom or national security. We support our military, our troops and our Commander-in-Chief and we oppose turning control of our government back over to the liberals and socialists who favor appeasement, weakness, and subserviency. We do not believe in surrendering to the terrorists as France, Germany, Russia and Spain have done and as Kerry, Kennedy, Clinton and the Democrats, et al, are proposing.

As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America. We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc. We also oppose the United Nations or any other world government body that may attempt to impose its will or rule over our sovereign nation and sovereign people. We believe in defending our borders, our constitution and our national sovereignty. "

Is this a Rudy bashing post? Why don't you spend your time bashing Hillary?

Stirring the pot again?

He apparently fits in with 65% of the American people according to a recent survey.

That wasn't the question.

I dind't say they couldn't support who they choose, I didn't say they shouldn't post here - that's not for me to decide.

Unlike politically correct liberals and RINOS, I still believe in the Bill of Rights - all of it.

But I can and WILL continue to demonstrate the unsuitablity of this man as a Republican Presidential candidate.

I DID point out the TOTAL incongruity between the philosphy of this forum and Giuliani.

Shouldn't we concentrate on defeating Hillary and maintaining the White House first

Why put the cart before the horse?

But who you going to vote for if it's between Rudy and Hillary ... or Rudy and Obama? None of the above? Guess who wins?

Wow. Pretty soon there will be a loyalty test to continue membership in FR. Are you planning a nice Stalinesque purge of all Rudy fans, like myself?

>>>>>Where the HECK does RUDY GIULIANI fit in with the ABOVE????

I don't know.

But if you asked Rudy Giuliani himself, I'm sure he'd have an answer for you. I'm of the opinion, why bother! If the ACU was evaluating Giuliani on his "conservatism", they'd probably give Rudy a rating of about 20. About the same rating they give to old Joe Lieberman.

Do you want Rudy to be the Republican nominee? Do you think he represents the policies and the base of the GOP

HARDLY.

Look at his RECORD - it speaks for itself.

And the last time I checked the Second Amendment hadn't been rescinded. But then, Rudy isn't President - YET.

And no less a Constituional scholar than Mark Levin has pointed out the legal flaws in Roe versus Wade. As a conservative I am aware of the moral ones already.

Hmmm...it's only March 3, 2007. Looks to me like there's plenty of time to make sure that's not the choice good Conservatives are forced to make, so that's really a silly push-pollish kind of question.

This is the time for shilling for your personal favorite candidates for the '08 elections.

But after the primaries, I hope the losers on FR put aside their differences and jump on whichever bandwagon happens to be the one chosen to lead our movement and our nation, because if the single-issue voters on FR fail to mobilize behind whoever wins our primary, we may end up tossing our nation to the liberal wolves.

But for now, everybody should shill for their favorite, as long as they understand that the winner gets 100% of our support after the dust settles.

Damn it, I can't find the article, but just a few weeks ago, there was a National Review article from 1994 that talked about the race in Tennessee in 1994, and it stated that "While both candidates describe themselves as pro-choice, Thompson favors parental notification and opposes partial-birth abortion, while Cooper has supported both." or something to that effect.

Anyhow, the info is out there, trust me. He ran as pro-choice in 1994, and he never changed those views, at least publically.

I have railed on a number of freepers in regard to election 2006 for failing to select the lesser of evils in the Congressional election.

I do however believe that in the present political season far in advance of the presidential election, we should push hard for conservative values. This means Giuliani, McCain and others deserve to be pummeled by conservative advocates.

I prefer Duncan Hunter and a number of other true social conservatives over either of these. I think Freepers should feel happy to press all candidates toward more true conservative values. The media certainly is not doing this.

I will say that in the end of it all, it is hard to conceive of any justification for standing by while Hillary wins. But for now, we must press for true conservatism.
