The Real Rudy

Rudy Giuliani had been speaking for six minutes before anyone in the audience thought to clap, which was exactly the way he wanted it. Talking to a political crowd in North Spartanburg, S.C., last month, the former New York City mayor and 2008 presidential candidate was not there to excite but to warn; he was less interested in making political promises than he was in sketching out the perils we face. He spoke in the hushed tones of the day that marked him for history, September 11, 2001, his voice barely filling the somber setting—not a hotel ballroom or a church basement, but a firehouse, festooned with American flags.

>>>>>I wasn't one of them, so how does that apply to me?

Neither was I.

These Rudybots have an idiotic infatuation with liberal pop culture icons like A.Schwarzy and now RudyG. Go figure. Neither one has conservative credentials worth a bucket of warm spit. LOL

"You don't have to be in the military to serve your country."

Yes, some law clerks are so vital to the survival of our country that they deserved a special, "one in a million" exemption from the draft so they could keep clerking.

"He has served in public office.....clearly he has served his country."

So has hillary. And Ted kennedy.

BTW, when a Senator hand carries your work into the Vice Presiden't office, just let me know (Malcolm Wallop was Dick Cheney's mentor and fishing buddy).

So did he change his position? How would he differ than Romney in that manner then? (Not that I'm a Romney guy, but I could at least consider him)

When you can get a job on Capitol Hill, which I will have starting in May with Congresswoman Virginia Foxx, 5th District NC, you can come back and talk to me.

Good lady, Virginia Foxx, good on border enforcement. Maybe you can get her to talk to Rudy about that.

Republicans just want to talk big but do nothing. We had the congress and white house for years and did NOTHING about illegals or abortion.

Republicans use conservatives the same way Democrats use blacks. All talk and no action.

She's good on almost every issue. The only issue I can think of that I disagree with her on is trade. Do you live in NC too?

Trade, eh? I haven't checked her out on that. Tell us.

No, I do not live in NC.

I was posting on another thread - we are dealing with the "Katherine Harris" wing of the republican party, they want to extend that model to the presidential race now. we told them 10000 times that Harris couldn't win, yet they insisted she be nominated and were able to turn out enough voters in the primary to give it to her. In a state that GWB won twice, she received 38.1% of the vote. and now they are demanding the same approach be taken, with Hunter.

"Not sure yet if this is a change or not for the Post."

The Washington Post will eventually endorse Rudolph Giuliani for president. They know he is more liberal than Hillary Clinton.

Noticed the anti-Rudy crowd and the Hunter crowd are already here. Are the Hunter threads so void of posts that have to have Rudy threads to post on. Guess that is what happens when a candidate is an * in polling numbers.

Yep. And I'll vote for Rudy because these social conservatives disgust me as much, if not more, than the rabid lefties. The hypocrisy and bile they've belched out over the past few weeks has been an eye opener for me.

Anyone who would support a candidate with Rudy Giuliani's antipathy for the Second Amendment has no qualification to take an oath of Consitutional office and lacks a credible understanding of history.

I'm solidly pro-2nd amendment and a NRA member. But Rudy has said he will leave gun issues to the states and I believe him. Besides, I don't see Congress passing any gun control measures. And I feel only Rudy can beat Hillary and I know Hillary will go after our guns.

Got to watching T.V. and didn't realize I didn't finish my post. Anyways what I was about to say was that there are many Republicans in the South that are against free trade.

Oh, so I take it you believe in selective incorporation in the Bill of Rights?

Better read that article, your shallowness is showing.
