The problem I have is not the point she was trying to make but the venue she did it in. She is smart enough to know that she would get all the press, which, in my opinion, distracted the press from all of the positive events during the conference. She made herself the center of attention instead of the issues being discussed.

On the other hand, would the press have given the conference more than a sound bite if she didn't say this?

I generally agree with the article. But personally, I draw the line with the use of vulgarity, which has nothing to do with PC Speech and everything to do with the idea of civility.

That said, I think the critical reaction from all corners developed into something ridiculous. One would have thought Ann used the far more vulgar four letter F-word.

The right IS standing by Ann. It's only people like Bill O'Reilly, McCain, Rudy and their bots on here that aren't. Oh, they'll "defend her right to say it", but they'll complain about her "venue for saying it" and how it is "tacky" and "potty mouth". I support her without condition.. no matter what she says no matter how she says it. Without hearing what she says and without knowing the context in which it was said, I would support her at any time in anything! Ann did the right thing in view of how ballistic the media and lefties went regarding her comment - a joke, a flip comment. They are afraid she might send a trend and people will start to disregard the censorship imposed by the PC crowd.

We are faced with invasion across our borders, innocent people being jailed, war, terrorism, etc. - and people go into a frenzy over a word! This is absurd.
