Clinton team fails to push out Obama

Associated Press

Thursday, March 08, 2007 COLUMBIA - A planned speech by presidential contender Barack Obama to South Carolina's black legislators has survived a bid by key supporters of Hillary Clinton to have the New York senator take his place.

Associated Press Presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., addresses a news conference in Washington. Mr. Obama will speak at the South Carolina Legislative Black Caucus' gala April 13. Click photo for optionsMr. Obama had accepted the South Carolina Legislative Black Caucus' invitation to speak at its April 13 gala. But state Sens. Robert Ford and Darrell Jackson - who have endorsed Mrs. Clinton - tried to sway their caucus to their candidate. The men relented Tuesday night, and the caucus unanimously approved Mr. Obama's appearance.

The annual caucus fundraiser traditionally features a black speaker and will provide a high-profile platform this year in a state that is holding the first Southern primaries.

Black voters accounted for 49 percent of vote in the 2004 Democratic primary here.

"Sen. Obama is very excited to attend this event and is very much looking forward to it," said Dan Pfeiffer, a spokesman for Mr. Obama.

State Rep. Gilda Cobb-Hunter, a caucus member, said Wednesday that she was "flabbergasted" about the split on the speaker. The Orangeburg Democrat, who hasn't aligned with any presidential candidate, said the Illinois senator was the right choice to begin with.

"The committee's interest was in having Sen. Obama as affirmation for young people of color that the sky's the limit," Ms. Cobb-Hunter said.

"A number of us were interested in having him come to motivate people and get them involved in this process."

Mrs. Clinton will speak to the caucus at some other time.

Actually yes....

I was led to a rather small company in St. Charles, IL...

They excelled and specialized in a very unique manufacturing process...
I came to think of them as one of our most valued business partners.

Their management, staff and technology were the MOST significant contributor to the success of a very profitable program for my former employer.....a MAJOR worldwide corporation.

I want this to go on for a long time. In that manner, they will hack each other to pieces, revealing the culture of corruption in the Democratic Party. Obama's alleged gift of land (cheap price) from a lobbyist who purchased the land next to 'Bama and then gave 'Bama title. Then there is White Water, a tax shelter scheme designed to offset 4100K made by Ms Clinton in commodities etc.

I wonder if either one of them will address the Legislative White Caucus gala--oh, that's right, a White Caucus would be "racist".

I'm telling you. Hillary is NOT going to be the Dem nominee. It's going to be Barak Hussein "Osama" Obama.

If the Billary machine destroys Hussein and removes him from the campaign equation, it will be doing us a favor. He is the most formidable Democratic candidate for us to face. It will be hard to beat Shrillary, but even harder to beat Hussein.

Only a complete loser, in the form of a Repub candidate, could lose to these 2. Enough of the electorate see through people like Hillary that someone like her would not win a presidential election. Kerry is proof of that, and he has less baggage then Queen Hill. Obama...well, America is not ready for a black president, especially an ultra liberal one, like him.

My personal opinion, of course.

Everett Dirkson was pretty cool. He was the Senator who first said, "A billion here, a billion there, pretty soon you're talking real money."

Nope. Barak is in over his head, and Clinton, Inc. will hand it to him by Fall.. The pros will go with Hillary, or else Algore.

Lots of otherwise reasonable moderates will give Hussein a break just because he's black and -- as Biden put it -- "clean." What he meant was that Obama doesn't come across as sleazy or as concerned only with blacks, both things that were characteristic of Jackson and Sharpton. The media will drum up tremendous pressure to go with the black guy, or with the woman if it's Hillary. If Dick Morris says there are lots of unmarried women nonvoters out there who will dig a Hillary candidacy, I'm inclined to believe him. Whoever the GOP nominates will leave some of the conservatives cold, so that's another problem. Yet another problem is that the GOP in Ohio is in the tank.

Wasn't it this same Democrat Party that repeatedly and vociferously shouted that Dan Quayle wasn't experienced enough to be vice-president....yet now their great saviour and likely candidate is Barak Hussein Obama - just 2 years out from the Illinois legislature? Barak ...you are no Dan Quayle!

Hillary is so overrated.

I can't wait to see Hillary lose it when she loses it.
