The National Assembly (AN) will urge the Attorney General Office to request the Supreme Tribunal of Justice (TSJ) pretrial on the merits against Zulia Governor and major opposition leader Manuel Rosales.
During a plenary session, the AN agreed on taking action against Rosales for presumed lack of observance, to the detriment of Zulia government staff.
According to a press release from the Parliament, in 2006 the Zulia government received USD 203,572,800 in additional lending, part of which should have been used to pay labor liabilities.

Chavez/Venezuela Ping
Latin-American Left Ping
These folks are rolling on the totalitarian road like it's going out of style.
Let the purges begin!
I think at one point the Roman Senate "requested" that Caligula's horse be made a senator - really a reflection on the elected body rather that the horse.
"Honestly, that is what is coming. He has followed the Marxist/Maoist playbook to a "T"."
I think he may be moving too fast. He doesn't have an island prison like Castro had, nor the Germans and Japs at his heals to enforce military justice like Stalin, Mao, Lenin did. He's his own little tornado without an instigating outer force, so I suspect vast hordes will just walk away and let the place crumble. The fall could be quite swift, I suspect the oil sector could crumble and leave him hold the bag.
Your statement about the petroleum industry is already coming true. According to many threads on FR, he has mismanaged the State-owned oil company to the point that it has incurred financial loss.
The concern is what this whackjob does between now and when one of his own cuases him to die of lead poisoning.
He seems to be well on the way to barring the opposition. I think this is the beginning of the show trial phase. After a few show trials of famous people, the system will be geared up to entrap ordinary citizens.
Yes. Like I stated, the stage is pending.
He is leading Venezuela, step-by-step, into the same foul pit in which Cuba resides. I suspect that re-education camps are in the works.
Or a bullet in the brain.
How do you impeach someone who is not in power?
Venezuela makes me believe that the democrat party could do exactly the same thing here.
He can't do that until he's put all obvious opposition figures behind bars or 6 feet under. After that, he'll go after his less enthusiastic supporters in his own party.
Thanks for the ping, PY. I don't see much hope for Venezuela with this guy in power.
Same here. One of the guys from Houston, who is aiding our project, is originally from Venezuela. He is not allowed to work there anymore because of Hugo. There is another woman who had a similar past.
This guy is a PhD chemist, and quite bright. I forget her name (I haven't met her before), but the woman is a talented engineer. They say that Hugo has replaced industry bosses with his own thugs, and its the talented people (the ones who realize socialism doesn't work) who get axed for dissenting.
On the other hand, I'll gladly welcome talented people to the States, who realize socialism is a load!
That's very unfortunate. There is nothing good that people can get from Communism. Unfortunately, ignorance keeps plenty of people from finding out the truth until it's too late.
Communism and liberalism are a means to slavery. I really wish some of our liberals would go and spend a year in such a workers' paradise.
