This is too funny.
Penn and Teller send an assistant to get gullible joiners to sign a petition banning dihydrogen monoxide, plain water.
Warning: Some bad language (including the name of their show, Bull**it.)
The show host politely asked the caller if he manufactured the bicycle in question himself.
The caller actually said "What does that have to do with anything?"
The host then asked where the bicycle was made.
"China" was the reply.
The host asked the caller if someone rode the bike to his neighborhood bike store from China.
The caller hung up.
There really ought to be a bounty on morons.
It'd be a public service.

Ban global warming while they are at it... ;-)

Damn.... The links are even better.
That was great
people like these have been very good for leftists ideas and laws
Reminds me of The Man Show collecting signatures for ending women's suffrage.
Yep, they really took a meat-axe to the PETA heads.
This was the first time I had seen pictures of PETA's luxurious headquarters in Norfolk, VA.

He's a big enviro.
He returned from a camping trip once gushing how great it was to commune with nature and how we've 'lost something' and how great it would be to return to a 'pre-modern lifestyle'.
Mind you he was blabbering this nonsense as he was putting away his lightweight nylon tent, caring for his Gore-Tex boots, his DuPont Holo-Fil sleeping bag and cold weather gear, cleaning up the Coleman fuel stove, and packing away the rest of his dehydrated meals packed in their nitrogen filled mylar reinforced aluminum foil packages.
He then extolled the virtues of his Katydin water filter with its ceramic filter cartridges and remarked that he was glad he had a couple of Bic lighters with him because his matches got wet.
That happened when some water splashed into the Kevlar canoe he had rented for his triumphant return to the embracing bosom of Mother Nature.
All I did was smile.
Sometimes people make things too easy.

good post ping
I agree with banning petition, but how do you sign water?
That's funny stuff there!! Ain't the English language grand?
Just found and tried this:
http://www.theabsurdreport.com/2007/vote%e2%80%a6%e2%80%a6don%e2%80%9dt-vote/#respond
Got my "permission granted" score:
You scored 350 out of 350 possible points, or 100.00%
A+
Not only should you vote, you should consider a career in politics.
It was quick and I'm sure most of us on FR will ace it!
Ping.

"You scored 306 out of 350 possible points, or 87.43%

You should update your knowledge and then vote."
I can't believe I missed Pelosi and Gates (though I don't remember seeing any pics of Gates). Some I had to narrow down via process of elimination. I guessed Olmert correctly even though I didn't know what he looked like.
I would have said "petition to ban water" but the mods frown on altering original headlines. I couldn't resist the urge to correct "baning" though.
It's not like hippies have any use for water, anyway.
LOL! Just caught that.
A
You should definitely vote.
I missed John Boehner and Ban Ki-moon. I don't have television- I've never actually seen either one of them before taking this quiz.
That was fun, thanks for posting this.
Note to squeamish: skip to next post now.
People like this need to experience the joys of pulling intestinal worms out of their rear ends with sticks, like our premodern ancestors.
Well I would quibble with some of the titles. After Michael Moore the only choice that's logical is 'fat idiot' so I had to pick 'film director'.

Carolyn
Congitive dissonance, thy name is Brian.

I can vote too!! Got an A! the only one I missed was the Sec'y Gen of the United Nations..
Very revealing (and funny too)! I remember listening to the Ludlow Porch radio show and they had a funny fake commercial raising money for bipedal Americans. Many people do not know that JFK, Marilyn Monroe and Elvis were all bipedal. Give to the bipedal fund today!
They had a great piece on recycling which boiled down to being a costly, harmful activity for things that aren't aluminum. Worth looking at especially when they pretend to be doing a pilot program to add more bins to curb-side recycling.
You scored 332 out of 350 possible points, or 94.86%
A
You should definitely vote
When I think about what Lewis and Clark went through, or more importantly, President (the General) Washington went through at Valley Forge! (Shudder!)
I don't even like going outside anymore!
Mark
Yeah, but that one (the one banning women's suffrage) was a good idea. I'm all for that one (unless they're a SAS or Lady Freeper!)
Anybody else remember the way Algore's ratings spiked upwards with women voters when he laid that deep, french kiss on tipper? Or my step-mother's answer when I asked her how we could be causing "global warming" on Mars, since the Martian ice caps are melting: "Well, we must be doing something that's causing it! I mean, why else could it be getting hotter there?"
I volunteer every female relative I have as the first in line to lose their votes!
Mark
But it should be banned.. Research has shown that almost everybody that dies has consumed dihydrogen monoxide within the past few hours.
You scored 341 out of 350 possible points, or 97.43%
I think I missed an actor...
Most people, when they return from camping, extol the virtues of finally being able to use a real bathroom.
>Well I would quibble with some of the titles. After Michael Moore the only choice that's logical is 'fat idiot' so I had to pick 'film director'.<
I scored 350 also. I had the same quibble with Moore, Baldwin and Sheen. There was no choice for "idiot" so I had to go with film director and actor.
I had a harder time recognizing Christina Whatshername than I did Ban Ki-Moon.
Re: DontVote.org score:
I took the "Vote/Don't Vote quiz, and scored a 336 out of 350 (96%) on it. The result was that, according to DontVote.org, I should definitely vote. I wasn't sure who the photo of (who was revealed to be) Ban Ki Moon was, nor what he did. I knew he wasn't 2 of the other 4, so I could have guessed and had a 50% shot at getting it right, but I just chose "I don't know" instead.
But I did have a problem with a few of the photos there. When they put up a photo of Alec Baldwin, I didn't see the title of "failed radio talk show host and notorious wife beater", or with Paris Hilton, I didn't see the title of "stupid, filthy whore."
Mark
Thanks! That was fun (350 out of 350)!

Once saw comics do the same banning WOMEN'S SUFFERAGE.
Reminds me of The Man Show collecting signatures for ending women's suffrage
Two sign up sheets for clubs on the bulletin board at the college I went to were;
Join the "Shooting Team" sign up now or contact Club President, Chas Whitman at ......
Another asked for people to sign up for the "Rowing Club"
(the school was in Santa Fe, New Mexico)
There were lots of sign ups.
I'm so ashamed I didn't know who the UN secretary general was.
After all, it's a great organization...if you like unfettered corruption, that is.
They do a great Bullsh*t on PETA too.
Wow. Awesome post.
Well said.
Was watching an episode of "Survivorman" on the Science Channel this week, where the survival expert was plopping his face in a lake in moose country, drinking deep then marking his camp in case of bears.
Couldn't help wondering how long the dude was in the hospital after that particular episode.
He probably could have used one of those ceramic water filters just about then...

Same Here. I admit to a couple were guesses such as Prime Minister of Isreal and SecGen of the UN. Some of the pictures were bad such as Tony Snow and John Boehner. Hard to recognize.
The longer version of it is even better. I'll look for it and post if if I find it on You Tube.
I had a problem with Paris Hilton. There was no choice for skank.
