Any thoughts on Haliburton's decision to move from Texas to Dubai? Any concern about U.S. Security being compromised considering all the military contracts Haliburton has? Any outrage over U.S. tax dollars going to contracts with a firm which relocates to an Islamic Country and destroys American jobs in the process? Any concern about national security being compromised by having employees from Dubai working for Haliburton? Any connection between this and the past attempts to have Dubai manage U.S. Port operations?
What the heck is going on here?
Doesn't this BOTHER anybody?
I did a keyword search and found nothing on this subject. If its out there already, I apologize.
This is the first I've heard of this. Where did you first learn about it?
When liberals kill all hope for increasing domestic production, then business needs to move where there is demand for their product. Haliburton is an oil service equipment company.
ditto
Why would they stay here? America's oil industry is slowly being killed by the left. Why go down with the ship?
Atlas shrugged.

Halliburton's Dubai Move Sparks Outcry Members Of Congress Criticize Move As Insult To U.S. Soldiers And Taxpayers (CBS News) DUBAI, United Arab Emirates U.S. oil services firm Halliburton Co. is shifting its corporate headquarters and chief executive from Houston to Dubai in a move that immediately sparked criticism from U.S. members of Congress. Halliburton Chief Executive Dave Lesar, speaking at an energy conference in nearby Bahrain, said he will relocate to Dubai from Texas to oversee Halliburton's intensified focus on business in the Mideast and energy-hungry Asia, home to some of the world's most important oil and gas markets. "Halliburton...

LONDON Texas is the can-do state. But there's no denying that Dubai has become the can-do sheikdom and a potent rival to Houston's supremacy as the center of the oil business. The move of Halliburton's corporate base from Houston to Dubai is a stark example of the industry's shift in power from North America. The company is moving closer to the oil fields of the Middle East and Africa and its big national oil firms that control financing, exploration and production. "The business is changing," said Amy Myers Jaffe, a fellow for energy studies at the James A. Baker...

MANAMA/HOUSTON (Reuters) - U.S. oil services firm Halliburton Co. (NYSE:HAL - news) is moving its headquarters and chief executive to Dubai in a move that immediately sparked criticism from some U.S. politicians. ADVERTISEMENT Texas-based Halliburton, which was led by Vice President Dick Cheney from 1995-2000, did not specify what, if any, tax implications the move might entail. It plans to list on a Middle East bourse once it moves to Dubai -- a booming commercial center in the Gulf. The company said it was making the moves to position itself better to gain contracts in the oil-rich Middle East.

"Halliburton is opening its corporate headquarters in Dubai while maintaining a corporate office in Houston," spokeswoman Cathy Mann said in an e-mail to The Associated Press. Welcome to the Global Economy.
The liberals in the US have so villainized Haliburton that the company name is almost a dirty word. Why stay. All of the oil-drilling is outside the US. Why have a headquarters here? Don't you believe in free enterprise?
Ditto and add:
Why would you stay somewhere where people drive Prius's (Priii?) emblazoned with:
"The War Is Over: Halliburton won"
As HAL will reduce overhead.
I think it is fine; they will still pay their taxes, just getting closer to the action and to their clients which is good business. Heard 20% of the worlds construction cranes are in Dubai; anyone not wanting that action is a poor business person.
I heard about it on the "Savage Nation" show and Goeggled it. CBS/AP has a story on it. It broke yesterday.
The mainstream media is putting it on back pages for some reason - probably because as many Dems as Repubs are connected to this firm. Bill Clinton gave them a lot of contracts too.
It's been discussed on a couple threads, I think you just didn't find it because you forgot the extra "L" in Halliburton. :) Here you go:

No, no, no... no, no, no.
Haliburton is a global petroleum services firm. Its employees are already all over the globe. Some American, some not. Just like the oil business.
As for federal contracts, I think you're confusing Haliburton with its subsidiary Kellogg Brown & Root. It was announced last week that the two companies are separating in a more transparent way, which should make the critics happy and less confused than they presently are.
In any case KBR does amazing work in Iraq, IMHO.
It is smart for Haliburton to get away from the KBR limelight and to concentrate on its oil business. Dubai? Fine. Good place for it to go.
Well....not exactly.
They are relocating only 200-300 corp. jobs when they move their HQ to Dubai. This is unfortunate proof that GW Bush is a lame duck and that the '08 election is up for grabs. In case Hitlery wins, they want to be far, far away.
Oh, come now. The big stuff is elsewhere.
