Obviously, Hillary! is taking point on this for two reasons:

1. She wants to solidify her bona fides as the Democratic front-runner for President.

2. The Democratics want the spectacle of Senate confirmation hearings (Judicial Committee - Kennedy, Schumer, Leahy) to further attack the Bush administration during the run-up to the elections.
