Full Pockets

READ: Ephesians 1:3-12

God . . . has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. —Ephesians 1:3

Every man needs pockets large enough to carry all the important things in life: wallet, keys, breath mints. By looking at my wife’s purse, it seems she has a whole universe of resources, but at least men have the essentials! With just a quick reach into a pocket, I have access to cash, credit cards, and the exclusive privileges that a set of keys offers.

And children know that if they ask Mom or Dad to search their pocket or purse for a piece of gum, a mint, a comb, a tissue, or a dollar—whatever it is they think will meet their need at the moment—they will receive it!

It’s not unlike our privilege as God’s children. At salvation, we are placed “in Christ” and granted full access to all the valuable resources God offers us. Resources such as His wisdom: “Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Ps. 119:105). Forgiveness and grace: “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace” (Eph. 1:7). New perspectives that bring hope and confidence even in the toughest of times (Eph. 1:18), material provision (Matt. 6:30-31), and peace (Eph. 2:14) are also ours in Him.

God lavishes His resources on us “according to the riches of His grace” (Eph. 1:7). Dig in!

I know not by what methods rare
The Lord provides for me;
I only know that all my needs
He meets so graciously.  —Adams

Children of the King have no reason to live like paupers.

Good Morning Sweet Sistah Dutchess! I am sorry for your power outages.. Ours was out in the “wee hours” but back on in Morning & we have winter Back

Thanks to you & JohnHuang for this morning’s treat..

His work is always fun & your presentation is always outstanding. I had to look at the schedule again to make sure I didn’t pull another “oppsy” & was on tap for today! Whew.

A little catch up to all.. The warm weather for a few days was spent in yard & garage pick up.. Just a start but … well, a start. Enough however to make my back which had a few weeks of doing better..very sore again. Snowing heavily here now. Couple inches predicted. My van is at shop to see if it is perhaps trip worthy with not sinking a LOT of money into it.

A NEW ENGINE, TRANSMISSION, brakes, exhaust system etc would I am sure help but not in the budget! My friend Mark leaves for Japan Sat.. I could not be away from home for over a week & so had to pass that opportunity. I am hoping he does okay as it is only 2 weeks since his back surgery. He is a lot like me in OVER PACKING stuff.. his son (the Federal air marshal & former SS) is traveling with him & so will be his pack mule.

If all falls into place I will be joining the Gathering of Eagles in DC on Sat & the Walter Reed Freep on Friday night prior. The van trip worthy OKAY being part of agenda.

I mentioned on the Dose last night that I NOW have a Laura Bush haircut!!!! About 15 inches off & the shortest it has ever been. Not sure it is exactly LB but short! The stylist didn’t know who she was, if you can imagine that one. I was ready for something different & have never had short hair.. my whole life has been long. With all the curl I have it will be a continual effort to keep it smooth like Laura’s.. most of the time it will be a curly mop top I am sure. (easy for lazy me) Will post some pix in near future.

Another great JH2 article. Luv the Sandburglar pic. Too bad he isn't already in a striped jumpsuit.

How come Dem criminals all seem to get a free pass while any Pubby gets creamed just for being accused of wrongdoing? Republicans need to take off the kid gloves and start playing politics for keeps. Why is it that we never see a constant parade of Republican's demanding to get to the bottom of Dem chicanery? Rush uses his montages to continually highlight the Dem tactics of flooding the airwaves with talking points that they all repeat like trained monkeys. Why don't the R's do that? Are they all more concerned with appearing to be mavericks rather than holding corrupt Dems accountable? I personally don't want my politicians erudite and "above the muck" when the enemy has no intention of being the same. It tends to get one run over.

Anyway, sorry for the rant. My nephew left for Parris Island last week. Would you please add him to your military prayer list. I would appreciate that very much and I could tell him in my next letter. Thank you.
