Compare this young man (11 years old) and his strong feeling of responsibility, with the 13 year old criminal on another thread here.

What makes one boy in a very bad environment become so responsible and caring, and another become a criminal?

Yup - another "drug use is a victimless crime" story. I did note that the "father of dead infant" could not be found.... A society that is cracking at the seams, and yet good folks still offered a hand.

Where did this fine young man get this kind of character? It gives hope that good can still arise out of this hollow shell of a "culture" we have today.

"I'm not going to make the same decisions my mom made," he said, sobbing at times. " ... For the rest of my life, I'm going to hate drugs because of what happened to my mom and because it killed my sister."

God bless him! This kid is gonna do something with his life.

That's really beautiful. God will bless this child for doing right by his sister. May goodness and mercy follow him all the days of his life and may he dwell in God's House forever. Amen.

The kid's all right ...

And thank you to "Edd Wunderlich, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, will preside over today's service. The Alpha K-9 Kennel group paid for flowers for the burial, while Martha Herebia furnished three floral arrangements. P.J. King, a student at the Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service, will provide help at the burial, while the 3 A Bereavement Foundation will donate $100 for Roger to purchase school supplies."

I read this, and if there's a "HOUSTON PING" list, we might want to send it out. He's only up in Waller, just on the NW outskirts of Houston.

My prayers for this young MAN, and his grandmother, and his baby sister. I have this one friend - his wife miscarried about the fourth month. They had a funeral, and everything. My cousin, on her previous pregnancy, had a miscarraige during her third or fourth month. Fortunately, both sets of loving parents (MOM and DAD) were able by the grace of God to have more children.

Contrast this with people who purposely "miscarry" their baby by aborting them. All I can say is may God forgive us ALL.
