Orlando Pérez, head of the Bolivarian Teachers' Association, Thursday in a news conference proposed deleting article 106 of the Venezuelan Constitution providing for private education.

"Since education is a human right, the State cannot delegate private institutions to teach. The State has to take full responsibility for the education process, and this process should be comprehensive, beginning with pregnant women."

Pérez, who is also the vice-president of the Institute for the Prevention and Social Assistance for the Employees of the Ministry of Education and Sports (Ipasme), claimed that decentralization has failed to improve teaching. Therefore, they are proposing greater centralization of education management.

I can see Randi Weingarten and Hillary Clinton nodding their heads in agreement.

I have never heard what Hitlery Clinton has said about Home Schooling but would guess she is totally against it. Marxists want the State to indoctrinate the children.

I watch the relentless loss of all human freedoms in Venezuela with jaw-dropping astonishment. How could a free people let themselves become wretched slaves?

Then I think of all the democrat party has become, and the seemingly endless assortment of netroots coming out of Stalinist-dominated American universities. And I know that it could easily happen here.....

And through UN Treaty... coming soon to the US.

That is why I believe that the US needs to pass a Constitutional amendment enumerating the rights of parents.

Parents / Guardians of children should have the right to:
1) decide what religion the child will be raised
2) decide what education the child will receive be it home school, private school or public school, as long as the child is able to show either age or grade appropriate progress
3) decide what non-lifesaving medical treatments the child can receive
4) decide what friends or associations the child will or will not have
5) decide on what audio or visual materials are appropriate for their child to view.
6) decide on what work if any the child may perform as a job as long as the job complies with state labor laws.

Oh, I forgot one more.

The right to discipline the child in a manner that does not produce physical injury to the child.

Since education is a human right, the State cannot delegate private institutions to teach.

Since speech is a human right, the State cannot delegate to private individuals the ability to speak.

Since the press is a human right, the State cannot delegate to private institutions the ability to report the news.

Since religion is a human right, the State cannot delegate to private churches the ability to pray.

Hey, getting into the totalitarian mindset is fun. However, if I do it too much I might end up voting for Hillary.

It would never pass. Many of the states in the USA are communist controlled at this point.

I don't think the ballot box can effectively roll back socialism in the USA, or slow down its growth.

Perhaps another depression?

Please read the United Nations Treaty: The Rights of the Child. So far the US is one of the few nations that has not signed it, but this is the source of much of what is happening in education today.
