Three weeks ago, the Dixie Chicks were the toast of the Grammy Awards, winning five awards and gloating onstage.
This week, however, the country music community weighed in to remind the Texas trio that they are still not welcome in their own genre, giving the Dixie Chicks no nominations for this year's annual Academy of Country Music Awards.

"We don't play their music, and it's strictly based on our research with our listeners, not on our feelings," Shombly said. "After it all happened, we gave them a 'time out' and didn't play their music for about 30 days. Then we went back to playing them for about 30 days, and it was just a firestorm. We had so many complaints from our listeners that we had to pull them off the air."
He said that even four years after the incident, the station's research continues to show the backlash against the Dixie Chicks.

"Personally, I don't think you'll ever hear them again on country music radio," Napp said. "There will be people who will buy their CDs, people who really enjoy their music, but as far as being played widely on the radio, I just think too many people would react too strongly to it."

The Dixie Chicks turned themselves into country music turkeys.
That's kinda like winning first place in an ugly contest.
I personally will never listen to the damned Chicks again...
If they come on my radio I would change the channel , I will never buy another one of their CD's , I will never watch them perform on tv ....
And I used to be a big fan.
I don't know anything about them feeling heat. I do know they are getting mighty ugly. Hate does that ta bitches ya know....turns em butt ugly.
LOL Couldn't resist sticking it to Natalie!!!
They printed the name of an amoral mass murderer on their naked bodies and took a picture for us to admire.
I'll always think of them as : Saddam's Angels
Post of the day!
I'm with you.
There's too much good music in the world to give them the time of day.
They took their fans for granted, then called them rubes, and stated they couldn't stand the thought of being in a cd changer with the likes of Reba and Toby Keith---well, you know, darlin, you don't have to worry about that any more.
They're still showing up on country video playlists. A friend of mine wore one of their t-shirts recently. Their fifteen minutes won't be over too soon for my liking.
Remember when Sinead O'Connor ripped the picture of the Pope in half on Saturday Night Live?
I agree, I don't remember Sinead O'Connor either. The b*tch earned it.
They can go into RAP music. Anybody can do that.
The little fat one is sweating harder than Al-Gore at a Global Warming rally. She's the one that brought this on the other two idiots.
They shouldn't have ever worried about that because none of them could or ever would be as great as Reba and Keith!!!!
Although my daughter is a conservative, she refuses to apply her political values to her cd or dvd collection. She told me if she did she wouldn't be able to listen or watch too many of her favorites.
The last time I was visiting her I was taking her to work so I could borrow her car for the day. I got in the car and a CD was playing. I told her, "Oh, tell me that is NOT the Dixie Chicks?" She quickly turned the cd player off. When we got to her workplace and she was handing the car off to me, she hesitated for a moment and then reached in and took the cd out of the cd player and put it in her purse.
She told me, "Mom, it's not that I think you would disrespect me by destroying my personal property, but I'm not taking any chances!"
The Dixie Chicks are not welcome in Dixie.
The CMA's haven't been hijacked by leftists pushing a political agenda like the oscars and grammys have.
I think that while they shot themselves in their collective foot by saying what they did in Europe, I wonder if the anger of country music fans might be more about what the Chicks did later on, specifically when they (or maybe just Natalie) said some mean things about Reba... I mean, seriously, NOBODY says anything mean about her. The only thing worse would be "dissing" Loretta Lynn.

It couldn't have happened to a nicer bunch of Dips.
