Attorney General Alberto Gonzales has apologized to U.S. attorneys under him and appointed an interim chief of staff as pressure builds for him to resign.
Gonzales apologized to all 93 U.S. attorneys in a conference call Friday as morale in U.S. attorneys' offices across the country deteriorated, McClatchy Newspapers reported. Gonzales has been at the center of a controversy over the way in which eight U.S. attorneys were fired in recent months

I have called on Duncan Hunter and Dana Rohrbacher for 2 months to start impeachment hearings against Alberto Gonzales--because of the traitorous actions against the border agents and "Dog" Chapman. I have called their offices. I have sent emails. To no avail. Removing him would have strengthened our side and shown the American people we wont permit our A.G. to be a stooge for a foreign power. But no one would dare use the "I" word. And now they are paying for it. Because--one way or another--he is going to the fired or removed. And it will have happened because of his weakness over a total bullshit, non-scandal. And it is Republicans' own fault that they allowed this little creep to stick around as long as he has.

This is why the stupid, dummy republicans are so limp, totally useless. They surrender quicker than the french. They make me sick. They are not the party I support any more. I will only support candidates who have a freaking backbone, stand up to the Marxists. These republicans are worthless, spineless, jellyfish, wimps. TOTALLY USELESS LOSERS, led by the guy who has undermined nearly every principal of conservatism. They make me sick. Third party, anyone else out there, here I come. Well, they are hanging their base out on a limb again. Don't they know we keep trying to defend them against our liberal friends, coworkers, families. But we are left without much defense when those dems in our lives can just point to apologies and "mistakes", firing of adm officials, false scandals that end up with convictions...etc. They just snicker, and we are left with egg on our own faces. Thanks guys.

The Republicans need to get out ahead of these things and resolved them ASAP.
Dems want to keep various Republican scandals and allegations of corruption in the headlines for the next 18 months, because that helped them win in 06.
Look for more such allegations all the up to the November 08 elections. Real or not, perception becomes reality, and the Dems want to give the perception that the Republicans continue to be corrupt and ridden with scandals. The Republicans need to find a backbone, or they will get buried again in the 08 election.
