Gore Made $500K from Toxic Mines

Former vice-president and global warming guru Al Gore Jr. received more than $500,000 in royalties from the owners of zinc mines, according to a report on Tennessean.com.

The mine owners held mineral leases on Gore's farm near Carthage, Tenn.

Before being shut down in 2003, the mines emitted thousands of pounds of toxic substances.

Reportedly, on several occasions, the water discharged from the mines into nearby rivers had levels of toxins above what was legal.

Now the mines have a new owner and are scheduled to reopen later this year.

State environmental officials, however, say that overall, the mine has had a good environmental record.

Furthermore, the officials note there is no evidence of unusual health problems in the area.

And now with his Oscar, he probably thinks he owns a gold mine.

Sounds like a script from one of those odious, Steven Seagal movies.

Where did the Gore family acquire the land and mineral rights?
Was this land part of the Armand Hammer bribe of Gore's father?

As Al Gore generates the "global warming crisis" he has positioned himself to be the chief arbitrator between industry and government if and when industrial carbon trading begins in the U.S. This will be worth billions to him and his partners. That's what the whole Kyoto scam is about.

Now, now. Here you are talking about pollution from zinc mining. Al's only interested in global warming [and the money from carbon credit purchases]. No hypocrite he!

Yes, the Communist Armand Hammer gave this land to Al Gore Sr. as a payoff for something.

Yes, here is what I found on a quick search, again from WND:

Vice President Gore also benefited through his family's association with Hammer. An Occidental Petroleum subsidiary, Occidental Minerals, negotiated a generous lease to mine zinc under Gore's 88-acre farm in Carthage, Tenn., 25 years ago. The $20,000 annual lease amounted to $227 an acre -- more than seven times the $30 per acre Occidental paid to other landowners.
