I just received an email from the online editor of the Daily Camera in Boulder. Would love for Colorado Freepers to slam her email box. Her name is Jennifer Falor and her email addy is FalorJ@dailycamera.com

Her Denver Reporter accidentally interviewed a bunch of us who counter demonstrated at the Denver Anti War Rally. She is now refusing to give equal time to our Demo.

I met your daily camera reporter yesterday in denver at the anti war rally. I was wondering if he had the guts to put his report up on the internet for everyone to see. I have not noticed any reporting yet.

As a citizen journalist I have found the time to report what I observed, and plan to go into much more depth tomorow in my after action report.

I did have a University of Colorado intern at the rally this weekend filming video, but that picture didn't look like him either. Maybe he had a friend or colleague with him. If it was my intern, I'm sorry if you felt offended or led on. The internship is a learning experience. If you'd like to tell me more about how you felt like you were baited (what kinds of questions did he ask, etc.), I would be happy to talk with him about the situation.

Anyhow, the video will be posted on the Web site for the anniversary of the war, which I think is Tuesday.

Here are two identifying photographs of your reporter interviewing me. They are attached.

I asked him who he worked for and he said he was a reporter with the Daily Camera. I don't care if he was an intern or a reporter, he was representing your paper, and I gave him a copy of our gathering of eagles flyer with my business card stapled to it.

To make things fair for your readers, at least to hear the answers we gave in context with the questions, all we would ask is that he include his questions in the video, so that the viewers themselves can decide if he was baiting or not. The questions felt one sided to me and that is why I stopped being interviewed. However, he talked to two other members of the Gathering of Eagles for quite a while and we would appreciate those videos to be put up as well, with questions included.

A reporter from the Denver Post interviewed us, but nothing appeared in that paper today, despite columns of text, and the nine news team was so close to us I could have tapped them on the shoulder, but they kept their backs turned to us....although we had seven veterans show up to lend support to our Gathering of Eagles.

Even the reporter from NPR realized the coverage was one sided. Why was that? Thousands of vets and their families counter demo the socialist peace niks and nobody thinks it is news worthy?

I think you guys can do much better, and I would like to see those videos, all of them, posted on your web site, with linkage from your front page to give equal time to the citizens in Colorado who support our president, the troops, and the war.

As for time and resources, if you think that ignoring our pro troops, pro Bush, Pro War group of vets is something that can be shoved under the rug all in the name of "don't have enough space".....you can just hang up your credentials as a journalist as far as I'm concerned.

Blog storm heading your way...I suggest you "talk" to your guy, and I would assume that you are now admiting he is your guy, and ask that he kindly put in some overtime to make sure he gets the story right.

If anyone else is interested in attempting to hold this editors feet to the fire, please chime in on this thread, or send her an email....We should be able to hold them accountable even when they Accidentally get footage of our counter demos.

I know that is why we call the paper the Daily Comrade instead of the Daily Camera. I just wanted them to be held accountable.

I think it is funny that a journalism intern from CU mistakenly asked to interview us without knowing that we were the Gathering of Eagles. The look on his face was priceless when he realized that I was there to counter the Commies.

Since this lady has engaged me in a conversation, I think it is time to attempt to hold their feet to the journalistic standards they always aspire to.

Isn't the irony of the Boulder Colorado paper making this mistake worth your time to respond to her? I think their hypocrisy is just too delicious....I loved how she tried to distance herself from him in her first email....

Perhaps she could use this as a teaching moment for her young charge..."Um....Mr. Intern Student? You want to do journalism in the 21st century...you are going to have to face some hard realities....like the fact that our business is going to have checks and balances and we can't just ignore those noisy conservatives anymore...."

The Online editor said it was because they did not have enough time, money, and the reporter Jeff Cushing, was an intern and he is not paid and does not have time to edit his hours and hours of tape...

If he is an intern would it not make sense that his boss would want him to do a complete story?

It's more than lies...since sunday I have been demanding they give us equal time and the editor said they just don't have the time or resources to put that tape up on the web.

Hello, have you heard of YOU TUBE? I could post that tape in about an hour - it can't be longer than 25 minutes of stuff....I guess if the student intern, Jeff Cushing wanted to edit out all of his baiting questions, that might take a little more time, but I think they should just put the whole tape up on the web so viewers can decide for themselves and see that indeed a group of Eagles were in Denver to counter demonstrate on saturday.

Even his long distance shots were carefully made to conceal the fact that we were there.

Sickening, just sickening, and the fact that his editor did not encourage him to give equal time just shows their true colors.

Actually, since the editor said this was a time and money issue, we have decided to hold a bake sale.

Dale in Littleton came up with our poster, and my cookies are cooling even as I type. I'm calling them Free Press Cookies, and they are in the shape of the Communist star with Red Icing!

Now, I have put plenty of videos up on YOU TUBE, and with the 25 or so minutes of tape this young man took of our Gathering, my guess is it would only take about an hour of my time to put all 25 minutes of the interviews up on the web. So, in that vein, we are going to hold a bake sale at CU to raise funds to help this young man with his "resource" problems.

Tomorow Dale and I are going to host a bake sale in front of the Daily Camera Office building in downtown Boulder. All Proceeds are to go to the "educate an intern" fund.

Don't get me wrong, this is not a handout, Jeff will have to work for his money by putting those tapes of the Eagles up on the web, and he will not get one penny until he does the work.

We just feel it is important to make a statement about his lack of professionalism and his editors willingness to look the other way. Sickening behavior in journalists. But from what I have studied, it is happening all over the country regarding the Gathering of Eagles story.

I made a ten minute video to respond to the parts of the Anti-War Rally that Jeff Cushing left out of his Daily Camera Video.

The video was published this morning on the Daily Camera Web Site. It was so one sided, I had to laugh as I watched it. Here is the first of three clips rebutting Jeffs Movie. (I did one take and the file was 250 MB - so had to cut it into three pieces)
