Ummm...Do you know any French Jews? Do you know any of these 7000? How do you know what their political affiliations are?
Better. by far, that we have some well educated, non-criminal, French Jews (socialism impaired that they may well be) than the run of the mill, uneducated AND crime inclined, Mexicans now illegally entering America.
I am curious as to what our "Gringo de Mexico" Presidente Jorge Bush will do in response.
Will he make a stirring "We have a common heritage -" speech? Or will that speech only apply to those descended from cannibal tribes of Central and South America?
Does Presiden Bush want educated emmigrants or merely criminals and low wage types?

PS I voted for both Bushes, both times. BUT, despite Jeb being someone whom I can vouch for as esentially a kind and decent American, both Bushes are neither Originalists, not concerned about Kelo type abuses.

Ummm....Sorry, I don't get it.
Simple extrapolation: The 7000 French Jews are asking for asylum in the U.S.A. as they are afraid of muslims in France. Rather than go to Israel, where they will be welcomed with open arms and trained to fight back in the Israeli army, they are choosing to run away to the U.S.A. where they will not be subject to military service.
Men and Women over 18 are subject to military service in Israel, so one would guess that the French Jews over 18 who are running away to the U.S.A. are trying to avoid the Israeli draft which is necessary to defend Israel from the muslims.
Do we really need 7000 French draft dodgers who don't want to defend Israel?

How do you know any or all of the 7,000 people are socialists? You don't. You are assuming they are because the most public Jews in this country are New York City liberals.
You similarly condemn the individuals because you don't like the politics of a part of that group.
That's like proposing to round up all blacks because black men are disproportionately more likely to commit a crime.

Indeed, the split of Jews voting rep/dim is very comparable to that of Roman Catholics. Do you propose the USA should ban immigration of Roman Catholics, too? Or do you limit your group-condemnation of individuals because they belong to a certain religious group to Jews?
It is a basic tenant of the USA that "all men are created equal."
No Jew, or member of any other relgion or group, is responsible for the absurd acts of other people who happen to be in that group.
Hence, whites of today do not owe reparations to blacks of today for slavery.
Roman Catholics of today do not owe me reparations for burning my namesake and multi-great grandfather alive on a stake for the "crime" of lighting candles to God on God's Sabbath.

If you truly believe individuals should be "punished" for the beliefs of others, maybe you need to leave the USA, and go live in a country that follows your beliefs.

There are a lot of French Jews in my neighborhood, and the ones I know are conservative. They're like immigrants from former soviet block-- they've experienced the enemy first hand and they don't like it.
I'm glad to hear that your neighbors are conservative. It baffles me to no end to hear that something like over 80% of Jews vote for Dems. Doesn't make sense considering their background.

Very true. No illusions about who to stand with or to be against.
I say, come on over. My local relief agencies are bringing over all kinds of Muslims, Albanians, Somalis, sending them down to the welfare office for welfare and also giving them charity assistance for food, housing, counseling to adapt, etc. So why not bring in some French Jews to counter-balance all the Muslims that are coming in?
