Authorities are beefing up security around U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers and his family after his congressional office in Lansing was vandalized, apparently by anti-war protesters, officials said.

Livingston County Sheriff's deputies are watching Rogers' Brighton home due to the vandalism at his district office in downtown Lansing overnight Monday and a similar incident outside another Michigan congressman's home Saturday, officials said in written statement.

The vandals splattered red paint on signs with Rogers' name and a "support the troops'' slogan on the building, and plastered a sign saying the four-term congressman has blood on his hands. They also spray painted the outline of a body with the words "no more deaths'' on the sidewalk, glued the door shut and destroyed security cameras.

The home of U.S. Rep. Vern Ehlers, R-Grand Rapids, was defaced during an anti-war protest over the weekend, according to news reports.

I was attempting to get to work through this mob on a route that took me past Congressman Ehlers house. These barbarians could give lessons in siege warfare to Attilla the Hun.

I doubt the scumbags will be showing up at Tim Walberg's house or office. His house is out here in the country where people are armed and his office is in Jackson where cops don't have a sense of humor.

Isn't it amazing.

Sure, let's go ahead and ping him. Maybe he can explain how the citizens of his home State Michigan, had a modicum of awareness and intelligence... and enough 'good conservatives' to create these results:

Democratic Representative (MI-15): John Dingell on the Issues

Democratic Jr Senator; previously Representative (MI-8): Debbie Stabenow on the Issues

Democratic Governor (MI): Jennifer Granholm on the Issues

Democratic Representative (MI-14): John Conyers on the Issues

Um, You're speaking from California right?

Seriously, good old Detroit vote fraud plays a big part but when the GOP chooses to do the typical GOP thing and roll over there isn't much that can be done. In the last presidential election, only about 9 of our 83 counties went to Kerry but that was enough.

When you look at issues within the state we appear quite conservative. Look at issues like gay marriage, affirmative action, and concealed carry laws.

You are right about the cops not having a sense of humor. When parents with out of control kids move to our small county, they get a lesson in public respect. Jail isn't just a threat: it is seen as a time to recover from antisocial behavior.

No kidding. Years ago I was cooling my heels in the Jackson county jail I found that one of the cop's sons was there for a minor marijuana charge. He said his dad made him plead guilty and ask for jail because probation wouldn't teach him anything.

I find it interesting that the media STILL has not mentioned that the "lawmaker" is a democrat!

You don't suppose they want the public to believe it's a repub being attacked because of the war ..?? Hmmmmm ..??

How many instances of this sort of thing happened in other parts of the country? It would be worthwhile to find out.
