Kiran Chetry Axed From 'Fox and Friends' For Gretchen Carlson
Post Chronicle ^ | Feb 19, 2007 | Staff

In a shocking development, 'Fox and Friends' cutie Kiran Chetry has been canned. Apparently the William Morris Agency tried to play hardball with the Fox News Channel, and it struck out big time - with its client Chetry, getting axed from the network.

William Morris super-dooper-agent John Ferriter told the network to dump the unfunny and very wooden Gretchen Carlson, co-anchor of the higher-rated weekday "Fox & Friends," so that Chetry could slide into the slot.

Ferriter, who'd recently started representing Chetry, had his backstabbing request backfire on Thursday, when Fox execs fired off an irate letter to Ferriter saying they were terminating their contract with Chetry for the treachery............"

I just realized the pretty Black Lady that graced the morning shows is gone too. At least I haven’t seen her lately. Of course F&F is over when I start watching. Six AM here is 9 AM there.

“If Lauren Green is who you mean she is still on.”

Thank you and that’s good. She is a sweetheart. Grrrr.

I like Allison ok too. I guess I liked ED because she had been on the show so long. I know I’m in the minority but I really dislike Brian Killmede. He gets on my last nerve and has such a bad case of Look At ME syndrome. Oh well, they don’t let me hire and fire, and it’s probably a good thing! ;)

Yeah, I always turn it on for that reason too. Sometimes I enjoy the chattter, and some days I just want them to shut up and give me the news! ;)
I’m getting ready to put a new snake up on my page. I seem to see alot of them down here. If anyone knows what kind it is, I’d like to know. I checked out the net for black snakes in S. FL, but I am not positive which one it is. All I know is it’s not poisonous!

Gretchan Carlson sucks ass. She’s terrible, and not that hot.

Kieran is far superior and prettier.

She (Kiran Chetry) really looks unhappy and out of place at CNN.

That's the first thing I thought this morning (Wed. 4/25/07) when I spotted Kiran doing the morning CNN show.

I don't watch CNN - EVER - and thus I never even noticed that Chetry was anchoring the morning show. (The only reason I even saw Kiran was due to a horrendous TV clicker accident that caused the TV to jump to CNN)

And the first thing I noticed was how sad and depressed and out of place she looked among all the other sad and monotone cretins who work at CNN.

It is so sad. I liked her also.

But unfortunately she became infected with the deadly SUZANNE SOMMERS DISEASE in which she thought that SHE was bigger than everyone else in the show and thus began demanding double her salary ... and that others be fired to suit her own delicate personality.

I don't blame Fox News one bit for bootin' her ass out the door.

Apparantly Kiran had already been talking with CNN behind the scenes because when the ship hit the fan in February, Kiran already had a not-so-secret contract in place with CNN.

In less than one hour, Kiran had finalized a deal (verbal) with CNN to begin working at the Turner network the next day.

Anyone who would even consider jumping ship to the heavily biased and bogus CNN network is, in my estimation, a loon waiting for a loony trap to fall into.

And to make it doubly painful for Kiran, Fox News also canned her husband weatherman, saying they didn't want him around due to his wife's arrogance, etc.

The moral of the story: DON'T SIGN up with power agents who think they are so important that the world must bow down in their presence.

Maybe Kiran will replace Paula Zahn.

If a Kiran falls in the forest .... and replaces Paula Zahn, and no one notices, did it really occur?

Just a philosophical riddle to pass the time whilst browsing through FreeRepublic on a rainy Wednesday night.

Truth be told, I didn't even know that Kiran had jumped ship to CNN until this morning when I had a tragic TV clicker accident, and my channel changer somehow stopped at CNN for about 20 seconds.

Kiran looked depressed, sad and absolutely out of place at CNN. I don't care HOW cute she is. CNN's morning show (all their shows actually) really sucks, BIG TIME, as Cheney would say.

Now that I've read up on the situation, it is painfully obvious that Kiran (in February) had become afflicted with that bombastic and often fatal disease, the SUZANNE SOMMERS SYNDROME, whereby one suddenly thinks THEY are the most important thing in the world and that everything revolves around them.

As much as I liked Kiran Chetry, I am glad that Fox News gave her the boot.

She had reportedly been negotiating with CNN behind the scenes, and when the ship hit the fan in February, Kiran already had an agreement in place.

To me, THAT is defacto treason, to be talking with CNN pukes and hiding it from Murdoch.

Too Bad her agent overplayed her hand.

I find it impossible to believe that Kiran's agent, John Ferriter?, would have demanded that Fox to fire Greta Carlson to make room for Kiran unless Kiran knew about it.

Certainly that is NOT something a reputable agent would negotiate ---

If she knew and went along with it she was dumb. Make a demand like that and Fox really had to fire her or put up with diva demands from then on.

I haven’t watched Fox and Friends since they stabbed Kiran Chetry in the back. They have been going down hill since they got rid of Mike, Juliet, Julian, E.D, and Julian. The people currently on Fox and Friends don’t act as if they are having any fun at all.

On the other hand CNN’s American Morning has improved with the addition of Kiran Chetry and John Roberts. For the first time I see a couple of people co-hosting the show that laugh. John Roberts said the other day that when he was sworn in as an American citizen the judge told them that they now have a duty to defend their new country. That is unheard of on CNN. Kiran Chetry was also interviewing a couple of CNN reporters that had been in Iraq for a while. They were alway critical of the way America’s leaders were handling the job there. Kiran asked them if America should pull out and what would happen. They said they had never been asked that before and answered no and that it would be total chaos if America were to leave. This is also something never before seen on CNN.

In fact since FOX fired Kiran Chetry American Morning has gained in the ratings war and Fox and Friends have gone down. Something is going on over at Fox. The hosts have appeared stressed out for some time.

If Katie Coric or whatever her name is is worth 15 million then Fox was getting a bargin for what Kiran’s agent was asking.

I'm not surprised. Their ratings were in the tank, and their website was getting out hit by abcnews, and drudgereport. They've brought themselves back up by stealing moderate talent away from Fox and others. LOL

I sure hope they are sincerely coming around, and some others, too. It would go a long way towards toning down the assaults on Republicans.

:O)
