The press is already in full attack-dog mode, and long has been. That's going to get worse, no matter what.

Fully correct. President Bush won´t get two nice last years, most recent attacks against the President target alleged help for the tobacco lobby. Bush has no choice but to fight in order to preserve the earned respect of his followers. His enemies disrespect him anyway, he can´t win their support. But in fact, he can very well lose the support of his own people.

>>>There's a war on, Mr. President

There has been a war on the President since the first term.

That is why the Log Cabin Republicans campaigned AGAINST him in 2004 and why we lost congress in 2006.

http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Log_Cabin_Republicans
Log Cabin Republicans campaigned AGAINST Bush in 2004.

Log Cabin (Republicans) need to account for where they got the money to fund the $1M ad campaign against President Bush in 2004 in key battleground states. This is a Federally-regulated organization (IRS and FEC rules apply!), but they have never documented where this money came from.

The WOT is moreso a war against the enemy within.

Is it John Conyers issuing the subpoenas?

I hope so. Conyers is a Stalinist lunatic who will not play well on America's TVs. He has a history of meeting with kooks and conspiracy nuts. If it is Conyers I'll try to post info on his crazy views and antics. This man is 100% moonbat.

I agree... And Justice also should revisit the Berger affair!

Bottom line is that the dems are interested in one thing and one thing only, and that is to either destroy Bush or make him look so bad that no one will vote republican in 2008. Each of these non-issues that they build into major issues, with the help of the drive-by media, are just pawns in the grander scheme.

GW is at the helm and he damn well better get a handle on what the dems are doing here or they will be in power again for the next 40 years......

Several fronts to this War On Terror with one of them being against the terrorist enablers within, Democrats.

"...One Nation, Under God..."

Our C-I-C needs wisdom and courage to stand against evil. Those who do evil need to repent. None of our leaders--nor the people they lead--are perfect. Let us pray for, not curse, them.

Psalm 96:10
Say among the nations, "The LORD reigns." The world is firmly established, it cannot be moved; he will judge the peoples with equity.

Proverbs 8:15
"By me kings reign, and rulers decree justice."

On the one hand, I doubt seriously that the idiots, running this soiree on the left, are really stupid enough to actually issue the subpoenas. They will press right up too the point, but back off.

The other hand says they (with all there wins in the attack Bush strategy) will be so emboldened by the apparent success that they can't help themselves and will press forward full speed ahead damn the country, go for the throat, and the final kill that will sweep them into the white house in 08.

My hope is they do and that Mr nice guy has the counter strategy in place and waiting to finally show the country and the left that he isn't nearly as stupid as they would like to think he is.

For my personal backup strategy, I'm not holding my breath.

Question for Blitzer then: What was it when Toon fired all those US attys in '93? And when he fired 30 more during the rest of his two terms in office?

Is there any Republican or conservative that doesn't want to fight the dems? Especially on issues that are clearly the President's to win and/or that he has the moral imperative to fight?

Republicans went from being in control of all three branches of government to cowering behind the Presidential podium. Don't blame the voter for this sorry state. Elected officials were voted in to fight for what's right. No fight; no re-election.

(Note to politicians: don't wait until a month or two before the election to look like you're doing something.)

BINGO

Gonzales is a little twerp - I hate when President put their little buddies into high office - with zero capabilities.

GW (I voted for him twice) is becoming an embarrassment - I am sick and tired of his conciliatory tone of voice.

If you won't fight for your own administration - how can expect the troops to fight for you and your nation.

Get off your butt Bush.

Yeah, the problem is that W will force this to the ultimate legal end to "protect the office of the presidency" but he never does enough to protect his own agenda. He has a humble side to his personality that I admire, but when it comes to the nation's best interests I wish he would ruthlessly defend his positions for his own sake.

"He must be exhausted" (?)

Ok - fair enough - then he should resign if he's too tired to carry the load.

I have supported this President 100% - but I am sick of fighting for someone who won't fight for himself, his office, his party, and most importantly for the men and women who are fighting for him - as President.

The President must be seen by the troops as a LEADER - not an appeaser.

Too tired? Understandable thought - but no excuse.

Suck it up - go for a run - and start firing people and start firing at people.

Screw your damn legacy.

Sure, Bush's approval rating is just 35 percent in the latest Gallup poll. But Congress' rating is even worse - 28 percent. Why shouldn't Bush move to take advantage of that?

And if he actually goes on the offensive, his ratings will go up and Congress's will go down.

Tony Snow was on CNN a few minutes ago interviewed by Soledad. She made mince meat out of him. He could not explain rationally why it is necessary to have those witnesses appear behind closed doors without a record of the conversation for the American public. This is a loser. At the end of the interview she said she had 3 people screaming in her ear that time is up and said 2 of those screaming were Tony's people. Assume what you want on that statement as I don't know what it means.

Gonzales needs to resign or be fired.

One of the longest standing gripes I have had with Republicans in congress under Clinton and Bush during his entire administration is that they keep on playing "nice-nice" even after they've gotten their family jewels kicked out their ears.

Why? I just don't understand it! Clinton seemed to take particular glee with meeting Republicans, sweet-talking them and then marching right out in front of the camera to stab them in the back.

Bush? His entire administration has been a series of attempts to get the Democrats to be as nice as he is, when all they are interested in is taking whatever they can get and blaming him for anything that they don't like.

Is he changing his way of dealing with them? I'll believe it when I see it.

Soladad - let me explain why:

The Executive branch of our government does NOT report to the Legislative branch.

The Executive branch does not call upon senators and congressmen to come to the White House - be put under oath, and explain why the fired someone back at their states office.

We can hire and fire anyone we want for whatever reason.

Now some may not like that - but that's the damn truth.

As far as meeting behind closed doors - its simple - we
are not going to give these political hacks the opporunity to attack our people in an open forum.

End of friggen interview Soladad.
