Too bad you weren't there. Tony Snow could not handle it.

What has happened here is that we have lost the high ground. This needs to be transparent since it has gone this far.

No one has any respect for his abilities.

No one has respect for Myers or Gonzales... maybe what you really mean is that President Bush should resign. I think the President should fight back more often.

Why?

Why not? Gonzales bungled the whole mess.

I heard Leahy and Meredith Viera state that all the papers that were submitted had alot of 'redacted' parts. Leahy said they were useless that's why they want testimony.

Tony Snow was on CNN a few minutes ago interviewed by Soledad. She made mince meat out of him. He could not explain rationally why it is necessary to have those witnesses appear behind closed doors without a record of the conversation for the American public. This is a loser. At the end of the interview she said she had 3 people screaming in her ear that time is up and said 2 of those screaming were Tony's people. Assume what you want on that statement as I don't know what it means.

Gonzales needs to resign or be fired.

Yeah, that's the first time I've ever seen Snow on the verge of flustered. He was dancing for all he was worth, but in the end, he really didn't have a leg to stand on. I actually don't much care for Snow, but I really felt for the guy; it has to suck being put in the position of defending those who show little interest or ability in defending themselves.

Why not?

Because the President supports him and because firing Gonzales would only make the dems and the media all to happy. Frankly, since President Bush doesn't seem the type to fight tooth and nail for anything, I am surprised that he did not or has yet to fire Gonzales.

I almost crapped when he appointed Bill Clinton to work with his dad after the hurricane. Then claimed bill was like part of the family. I could hardly stop from puking.

Yea, that really got me too. It seems Bush's whole political career in Washington has been to constantly appease the democrats in the absurd hope that they will somehow reciprocate.

Why Bush is so dense on this point is beyond me. He has a rich history of being sh*t upon by the dims at every possible opportunity, no matter how many times he's extended the olive branch.

I hope and pray Bush will realize the folly of appeasement and let the dims have it with both barrels.

Dubya needs to stop acting like the President he thinks he should be and start acting like the President he should be.

It's amazing to me how this whole thing which should have been a non-issue from the get-go has deteriorated to such a point. Certainly, no one wins in this. The administration looks like a deer caught in the headlights once again, while the democrats look petty in attempting to manufacture any scandal they can once again.

Personally, I'm sick of the lot of 'em.

Gee. He started now?
He's had almost six years. He shoulda been a War President from 9/11/01 - with Democrats AND Republicans (and a Holy Terror for the Taliban and Al Qaeda). Instead we got "A Religion of Peace..."

Oh, well. They don't call Republicans "the Stupid Party" for nuthin'.

He was flustered to say the least. We don't need this.

What was your impression of the statement from Soladad regarding 3 people screaming in her ear regarding times up and she said 2 of those were Tony's people. Did you think the white house wanted him off the air?

I'm not sure. For starters, why would there be two of Tony's people in her ear as opposed to one? It would be safe to assume that those people would be part of the administration in some fashion. Does Tony have his own people? Who in the administration has the authority to step in and cut off an interview with the Press Secretary? I remember when one of Colin Powell's people tried to cut an interview short, but he put a stop to that. I don't know if Tony could do that (or want to in this particular case).

Regardless, it struck me as very odd. While Tony was certainly in an uncomfortable position, it certainly didn't seem to be so bad that the powers-that-be should try and cut it off in a panic.

"I question as to whether they are enablers or are the actual terrorists."

The "enablers" are the ones behind the curtain with a Latte in one hand and a fistful of dollars in the other. If that doesn't describe "actual terrorist" then look at the back of their heads and see the other face.

I am so tired of waiting for him to defend himself...and my beliefs in Conservative values that I just seem to be giving up.

I don't even hope anymore. I just wait for the other shoe to drop after each event.

Well, maybe I hope!

I would push the Jefferson bribe probe hard. Charge him. Look into other criminal doings such as the Reid Land deals. If they want to play hardball , play it.

By taking the low road, the whole government descends into chaos. And who will they blame, well the president of course, he's the leader of the country. This is exactly what the Dems want he would be playing right into their hands.

By taking the high road, Bush would preserve the dignity of the government and the scoundrels would be revealed by their outrageous behavior. Of course with the media covering for them it might take decades for the truth to come out and untold damage would be done to the country by then.

They've got Bush cornered and the calvary is not coming.

Honestly, I can't pretend to recall every action the President has taken, but other than his actions on September 11, 2001 and his initial resolve to fight abroad, it doesn't seem that he has shown much fight. "Wanna buy some wood?" was witty, though.
