Fred Thompson would be the only conservative in the race if he joins it......who, as a one term senator, voted for McCain/Feingold. Thompson's record on illegal immigration isn't very impressive, either.

That's not true. Duncan Hunter is the prototypical conservative Republican. Chuck Yeager is campaigning for him. But unfortunately, Congressmen don't win the Presidency. I'm hoping if Fred jumps in the race and wins the nomination, he'll make Duncan his Veep.
