I like the rest of what she had to say also .. and many others have been saying the same thing. I believe the dems have gone too far with this witch hunt against the WH. I called my rep, Feinstein today and politely told them this "witch hunt" against the WH was outrageous, and it saddened me to see the "esteemed senators" acting like petty little children. I got dead silence on the other end .. must have left a mark!!
First, it may end up in the firing of Alberto Gonzales, who will go down in history with Ramsay Clark as one of the WORST attorneys general ever.
Second, Bush fired the wrong U.S. attorneys - he should've canned Johnny Sutton!
The only thing sadder than this Dimwit publicity stunt is the administration's impotence in defending itself.
They need to send an articulate spokesperson up there and invoke McCarthy. Everytime a lawmaker starts fillibustering, this spokesperson needs to cut him short: "Sir, I am sorry but your subpoena requires that I appear as a witness, not a spectator for your political grandstanding. I will be happy to return when you want answers to your questions." Then walk out and hold a press conference in the lobby, accusing these folks of political opportunism in the extreme..
The Dims obviously can't do anything relevant, and they are going to fund the war. So they are trying to cover their asses with their base with smoke and mirrors. It could be that the administration is letting them get away with it because Bush doesn't want to endanger the war funding. But it is sad, oh so sad. The MSM is lapping it up hook line and sinker.
Yeah, me too. But Bush's statements reflect that he does see (FINALLY) that the dems are out to take down the whole admin if they can get away with it.
I believe the words "show trials" was the key that indicated the WH was on to their little Fitz deal.

If it is as important(to him)as his illegal immigration program then I suspect he will stand his ground. Otherwise we will witness another 'backbone transplant' to the dems.

At least W has O'Reilly out there informing his audience that one of the fired attorneys was a Republican that nobody liked, another was a Democrat that the Democrats wanted removed. O'Reilly was mystified that the administration wasn't putting this info out.
He[President Bush] was the one who authorized the Fritzgerald fiasco.
He should have never did that. He also should never have appointed the 911 "Commission" whose sole purpose was to cover Bill Clinton's ass and implicate him.
He should have done battle with the Democrats from the first day he took office instead of kissing their asses.
The Democrats will never be satisfied with anything other that his total and complete destruction. And they will use any means at their disposal to accomplish this.
They have the same goals regarding Conservatives and Christians also.

What we all need to do is contact our congress people (hopefully GOP), and rattle their cages a little. Either they stand up and support the President and the fact that this admin HAS DONE NOTHING WRONG IN FIRING 8 ATTORNEYS - or we'll pull the money plug and let them all fade into oblivion. If they like being out of power .. we can arrange it.
I'm sick of these lilly-livered do nothing congress people who don't have the courage to stand up WHEN IT'S TIME TO STAND UP - IT'S THE RIGHT THING TO DO. They don't have to support Bush .. they can just support the fact that the admin did not do anything illegal - NOTHING!! It's more than past time for the other members of the GOP to speak out and confront the dems on this FAKE AND PHONEY "SCANDAL".
If they can't stand up and defend what's right .. then they cannot expect us to stand up and defend them if need be.

No! That's unfortunate but there may have been a good reason.
Because it took several weeks for the President to even get to the WH - what with the recount after recount after recount and trips to court, etc. .. hitting the ground running was important. To have to stop and regroup and select 93 attorneys and get them through the vetting process may have seemed like the last thing they wanted to do .. considering all the other items they were already behind on.
Of course, in hindsight .. it might have been a better solution. At least the GOP was still in charge of congress and hopefully would not have made a stink about it.
Thanks. How many of clinton's US attys survived, and for how long. Didn't W eventually get rid of them?
