I will say publicly what many people are whispering privately in barbershops, soul food restaurants, and church parking lots in South Los Angeles. If relations don't improve between African Americans and Latinos in Southern California, we are headed for a major racial conflict. And the notion that Latinos are killing blacks to "ethnically cleanse" their neighborhoods is extremely troubling.

B.S. - there have been tensions and incidents like this for decades. Blacks are just losing the numbers game now, so all of a sudden it's a crisis.
Any thinking person who watches the LA News reports could see this has been coming for several years and it will result in all-out anarchy/rioting sooner or later... the tension is too palpable between both sides.

Agreed. Whether you walk across the border or overstay your visa, you should be sent home, regardless of race/ethnicity.
mexican-black relations were really a subtext of the l.a. riots of 1992. mexicans were moving into tradition black strongholds. after the riots blacks moved into antelope valley, moreno valley, and further to the south end of los angeles county, i.e. long beach.
the result is today that blacks no longer have the political clout in los angeles that they used to have. that's the key issue.
on april 29 4 police were acquitted of charges in beating rodney king. the riot started.
also, blacks were at war with koreans before the riots, killing koreans in liquor stores and convenience stores that they owned. and, killing koreans, for example, on freeway off ramps at red lights--pull up, shoot, and as the light goes green, get back on the freeway. koreans armed themselves and started shooting blacks, and the black-on-korean violence pretty much stopped.
the media focused on black-white issues.

There is another trend in this gang war, it is happening, and few are aware of it.
The Mexican gangs are killing African Americans, no not for rival gang warfare, but for skin color.
I have picked it up, and wondered if my thoughts were right, but am now hearing it said in the news reports and a little on talk radio. I listen to San Francisco, Denver and Las Vegas, for the talk shows, about 24 hours a day, as I do not watch tv.
I have had Google alerts set for roadside snipers, drive by shooters and mall shooting for a couple of years, the one thing that comes up when you check the articles, is that the dead person was not in any way related to a gang.
This morning on KDWN out of Las Vegas, the radio report was for a car with 4 mexicans, who had drove by and shot into a crowd of African Americans, that were behind a Casino, one was dead, several others hit.
I find it in towns all over the U.S.
No, I don't have a firm opinion of what is behind it, the communist groups are strong in Mexico and the other latin countries, but so is the muslim religion, it has been said that there are jihad training camps in Mexico.
We know the dope comes from Mexico.
I could understand a race war, involving rival gangs, but that is not what I find.
Denver and Las Vegas both have many, often several a day of the drive by shootings, it is not always youths, in the NE, it will be men, stopped in a car, at a stop sign.
In Denver a few months ago, it was a Police Officer, at a stop sign.
There have been several 2 year old children killed, not gang related.
And these are just the ones that i have caught, many days may go past, that I do not have time to look at the alerts.
All I can say to urban blacks who are whining about Mexicans: What goes around, comes around! ;-)

I remember when the only Black we saw in our Neighborhood was the mailman [1960's]. Now there is only one or two Whites left. Anyone with school age kids moved out of town, now the schools are 98% black. I think the Govt. had a lot to do with it [they were handing out mortgages and loans to people who relly were not qualified for them], suddenly we had next door neighbors with four or more adults and 6-7 kids who didn't seem to be related but were living together anyway. Within a ten year period I went from knowing everyone on the street to knowing no one. Maybe in another ten years everyone on the street will be conversing in Spanish and the Blacks will be saying "what happened to the neighborhood?"

Clearly, African Americans are committing violent crimes against Latinos as well, but there is little evidence that those crimes are based on race as much as they are for control of turf. And the notion that Latinos are killing blacks in an effort to "ethnically cleanse" their neighborhoods is extremely troubling. Many African Americans are especially perplexed because they remember that when we had the numerical advantage, African Americans did not target Latinos for murder to rid them from our neighborhoods. It would have been unthinkable.
the mexican mafia took over california prisons a long time ago. in addition to mexican-black violence, there are white supremacists, albeit few in number, but virulent.
there are a lot of ads here for ca prison employees; pay starts at $76k but immediately goes over $100k because they can't get enough guards, so there's lots of overtime. same with police and sheriffs' ads. few people want to work in these occupations.

However, there is something else going on here. a lot of the killing is being done by illegals.
Thats a whole different kettle of fish than just race.
There is an old joke that ends with the punchline "it says a black man can't vote in Mississippi." If these turf wars aren't racial they'll do until racial comes along. The truth is all these street gangs are little racial militias, and black street gangs have targeted Latinos for racial reasons. (I won't mention the racial targeting of whites or ask if the individual who wrote this ever spoke out against it.)
All this brings up the musical question: why are there no white street gangs worthy of the name? There are various reasons but one of the biggest is that they wouldn't be tolerated. Street gangs, as I've said, are by their nature little racial militias defending their territory (usually with the tacit support of the communities they live in), that sort of behavior from whites isn't tolerated by the establishment. We've seen what they do in response to that situation: send in the FBI and if necessary the 101st Airborne. They do tolerate it among blacks and Latinos, though, certainly when it was aimed at whites, and somewhere in there is a message about the system and its goals. And now that they've got the racial militias they've helped to build and sustain targeting each other they're starting to wring their hands. Doesn't bode well for multiculturalism and the Black Victim Industry they base much of their power on. Guilt trips over slavery aren't going to work in New America.

What''s happening to blacks in California is the same thing that happened to white ethnics in the 1950s and 1960s when blacks moved in.
Again, if you live in California, I can see how you could think "oh, those POOR people in the ghetto, being victimized like that," in a state where Latinos outnumber blacks by a considerable margin.
St. Louis, Detroit, and Camden have the highest crime rates in the U.S. Not too many Latinos living there, eh?
My last comment will be that the "problem" race varies depending on where you live. Personally, thugs be thugs, no matter where they are from. Ultimately, we must rely on statistics of crimes committed as a WHOLE to see who is committing the crime, as well as levels of incarceration and arrest by race on a per capita basis if we want to "go there."
