I will say publicly what many people are whispering privately in barbershops, soul food restaurants, and church parking lots in South Los Angeles. If relations don't improve between African Americans and Latinos in Southern California, we are headed for a major racial conflict. And the notion that Latinos are killing blacks to "ethnically cleanse" their neighborhoods is extremely troubling.

I grew up in Cali, and blacks and latinos have never got along...this is nothing new.
That's a good observation. I don't think Clemenza has revealed anything new when she tells us that blacks have always had a higher criminal rate than whites. But that's hardly the point of the post. The point is that a huge influx of foreign illegal aliens who speak no English, have no desire to be assimilated into our culture, many of whom have criminal value systems, who are agents of the drug cartel, are exacerbating all our social and economic problems. Blacks, despite their many historic problems, are AMERICANS. Do we want to add to our social chaos by allowing a Third World invasion of foreign aliens which clearly makes an inflammatory and exploisive situation even worse?

As far as the underclass (whether their names be Maria, Shaniqua, or Tammy) having feral babies, certain court decisions prevent what I think would be a good solution to that problem. You can't force somebody to have an IUD implanted, although it would save us ALOT in welfare, education, and incarceration charges.
I know it sounds cruel, but I am sick of supporting both our native born underclass, as well as the masses of poor coming over our border.
I consider it an Americans vs. illegal immigrant problem. The Americans in this case happen to be black, so now it's a problem for the race pimps.

my point of view is:
you're dead, no matter what color the skin of a person that killed you. violence is violence in my view.
but i did have the feeling reading all of the l.a. times article in print the other day and here on the internet, that the times is on the black side.
don't forget that drugs are a major part of this. the latino gangs are bringing drugs into the country and distributing them.

In 2000 LA had a population of 3.7 million, with 1.8 million being Hispanic/Latino of any race. There were 369 thousand African Americans. 1.5 million residents of LA are foreign-born or about 40% of the population. And 2 million speak a language other than English at home.

New York is more American than LA, but not by much. Only 3.5 million out of a population of 8 million speak a language other than English at home. The Latino/Hispanic population is 2.2 million.
Clearly, African Americans are committing violent crimes against Latinos as well, but there is little evidence that those crimes are based on race as much as they are for control of turf. So blacks killing hispanics for land is just turf fighting but hispanics killing blacks for land is ethnic cleansing?! We may have just found the a winner for the most hypocritical statement of the year!!!
One example of how out of control race relations have been in Harbor Gateway is the case of the 19-year-old African American man with no known gang affiliation who was killed by a Latino member of the 204th Street gang because the gang member was upset that an African American had defeated a Latino in a boxing match.
Three Los Angeles members of a Latino gang known as the Avenues were convicted and sentenced to life in prison in November for hate crime violations, including killing African Americans in an effort to run them out of predominantly Latino neighborhoods.
This escalating violence between Latinos and African Americans defies logic in so many ways. The two racial groups have had many similar struggles in Southern California and have coalesced around issues such as affirmative action, livable wages, justice for janitors and police misconduct.
Clearly, African Americans are committing violent crimes against Latinos as well, but there is little evidence that those crimes are based on race as much as they are for control of turf. Many African Americans are especially perplexed because they remember that when we had the numerical advantage, African Americans did not target Latinos for murder to rid them from our neighborhoods. Those Crips and Bloods better get together with the remaining willing white community in a matter of common defense. I told people 2 years ago that this will be the end result. Baghdad had a carnival with rides for kids yesterday. L.A. is a war zone today. A Sheriff's deputy told me there are places in L.A. that require an APC with a 20mm machine gun to patrol around.
