PHOENIX — Former Arizona Gov. Fife Symington trotted out an aide dressed as an alien 10 years ago to spoof the frenzy surrounding mysterious lights in the Phoenix sky. Now he says he saw the lights himself, and believed from the start that they were extraterrestrial.
Now a pastry chef and business consultant, Symington said he did not acknowledge his own encounter at first because he did not want people to panic. The former governor, who faced fraud charges at the time, also said he did not need the additional problems such an admission would have created.

It's a layup to make fun of this stuff. That's how the media normally marginalizes it. Truth is, a small percentage of these sightings are true unknowns; like those seen in Arizona ten years ago there's just no known explanation.
Franky, I'd like to know more. Google 'The Disclosure Project', they have four hundred current or ex government employees who have said they are prepared to testify to Congress on the reality of these 'unknowns'.
Some of these highly credible people announced in a press conference on May 9, 2001 at the National Press Club in Washington that they believe these are real crafts from somewhere.
It's too easy to laugh this off.
Like the one I saw near Afton NY 15 years ago. I still get chills. Hovered over the highway, I went under a bridge, and it was gone. I'm still waiting for an explanation.
I have never seen such an 'unknown'. You should report your sighting to UFO CASEBOOK on the net. No matter how long ago it was seen, there should be a record of it.
I'd like to be able to hear your details. What did it look like? How close were you to it?
It really is, especially if you've never seen anything that you can't explain.
My wife and I saw a very odd shaped object while traveling in SW Wyoming four years ago. It looked like a hot air ballon in shape, but was moving sideways at what I would estimate was around 300 kts. Both of us are pilots and we are both familiar with most aircraft. It passed about 3 miles north of us, between us and a ridge in the distance. I could see the shadow on the ground. Even though we both saw it and we had two cameras sitting on the seat between us, neither of us even mentioned it until about 20 minutes later. Why neither of us took a picture or even mentioned it remains a mystery to this day. I'm not prepared to say that it was extraterrestrial, but if it was military in origin clearly aerodynamics are no longer an issue.
Was this guy a R or a D?
didn't we do this one recently?
They will testify the 'unknowns' are 'unknowns' and then we can all go back to reading FR (or whatever).
I was on I88 Westbound, it was a clear day about 3PM, Saw this circular object at about 2000-4000 feet, just hovering hovering not moving, then I went under the bridge, and it was gone. I get goosebumps still, thinking about it. I read somewhere that this part of the Susquehanna Valley is known for sightings. I saw this with my own eyes. It had to have been about 1980.
Maybe the aliens use English.
I think the point is...that if the government knows 'unknowns' are REAL, why haven't they admitted such?
If 400 people who worked in government know about government knowing, then why the secrecy on the part of government?
What is a "real unknown"? It's unknown. Could be anything.
If 400 people who worked in government know about government knowing, then why the secrecy on the part of government?
If there is secrecy then maybe it's just because the people working for national security hate to admit they don't know something.
Yeah, you make good points...but if you look into what the 400 are saying, they are indicating these are real craft from somewhere other than Earth...I know, I know, you can laugh. But the fact is twenty-some of these 400 testified to this 'fact' at the National Press Club on May 9, 2001.
The media mostly did not cover it. Only ABC nightly news ran a fifteen second report.
Look, I hate the MSM so bad that anything they don't cover must have some truth to it.
Extraorinary claims require extraordinary evidence. It's a cliche but it's obviously the best policy.
Fyfe's republican - we also have a huge military air force base out on the west edge of Phoenix (geez - you think maybe something top secret might have been tested?)
And afraid of being sued in case someone got hurt monkeying around on it. Sort of surprised it wasn't in Spanish too.
John
True...but if 400 men and women, mostly college-educated and leading professional lives say this is true...does it not require an investigation into their testimony?
It's impossible that they are not here when you consider the age and size of the Universe.
There is evidence everywhere. Only a fool would deny it.
Best kept secrets are out in the open and ignored.
John
Yes. It is very possible, maybe even probable that it is US secret aircraft. But if that is the case, given what these craft are capable of...speeds of 2,000 mph in an instant from a standing stop...then there's some technology the government has that maybe could put an end to the energy problem.
I just want to know what's going on.
