Democrats tout plan to bring troops home (MAJOR BARF ALERT)

WASHINGTON - The Democrats' plan to bring U.S. troops home from Iraq next year responds to voters' demand for change, New Hampshire Rep. Paul Hodes (news, bio, voting record) said Saturday.

Hodes and other House Democrats on Friday pushed through a rebuke of President Bush and the war in Iraq. Bush promised a veto of the spending bill, which demands combat operations end before September 2008 — and perhaps earlier.

"With our vote this week, we're helping our troops, protecting our veterans, and fighting to end the waste, fraud and abuse," said Hodes, delivering the Democrats' weekly radio address. "After four years of a failed policy, Democrats are insisting on a new direction in Iraq and a real plan that holds the Iraqi people accountable for their own country."

Hodes, elected in November, was part of the Democratic takeover of both chambers of Congress. He has opposed the war and any efforts to escalate it.

"After four years of a failed policy, Democrats are insisting on a new direction..."

Like throwing Iraq to the dogs will do any better.

"With our vote this week, we're helping our troops, protecting our veterans, and fighting to end the waste, fraud and abuse," said Hodes,"

The he!! they are.

"The Democrats' plan to bring U.S. troops home from Iraq next year responds to voters' demand for change"

The voters didn't vote for surrender, you forked-tongue liar.

"Hodes, elected in November, was part of the Democratic takeover of both chambers of Congress. He has opposed the war and any efforts to escalate it."

They made a typo; the sentence should say "Hodes, elected in November, was part of the Democratic takeover of both chambers of Congress. He has opposed the war and any efforts to WIN it."

"On Saturday, he emphasized the Iraqis must meet the benchmarks Bush proposed in January"

Impossible since the RATs won't even acknowledge the benchmarks that have already been met (formation of a government, formation of a military and police force, free elections, etc).

It's lies like this that make me want to strangle every RAT in America. We're fighting a war against people dedicated to our destruction and all these freaks care about is regaining their political power. It's disgusting.

I can see their "victory" parade...Grand Marshal, George McGovern will ride in an open humvee waving a white flag followed by a contingent of the French army. The head of CAIR will be riding a float with noted Imams chanting "Death to the USA" and "Death to Israel"....followed by the Democratic leadership leading a contingent of US troops carrying US flags flown upside down.

It's bad enough they're trying to pull another Vietnam...but to claim that their actions are in support of the troops and America is too much.

If I remember correctly ...

Back in the early 70's the Libs complained loudly about the old politicians in DC, who were trying to tell our young people overseas how to fight a war.

When did the Libs change their tune?

Here is a bright idea:

Since the democrats are planning to bring the troops home, it should be demanded of them, repeatedly, that they give the troops PARADES TO WELCOME THEM HOME!

I figure one big parade in Washington, D.C., another in NYC, and a third in San Francisco would be just the thing that should be thrown in the face of the democrats.

But WHY should the democrats DENY the soldiers their VICTORY parades? WHY, Speaker Pelosi? Don't have enough money?

Don't you like the soldiers? Don't you want to HONOR their VICTORY?

I imagine that for the first time in a long time, the military would be more than glad to have a ticker-tape parade in NYC, and to march in their tens of thousands down Pennsylvania Avenue.

And all the DEMOCRAT leaders should be there to greet the troops.

Well .. I guess we're all as mad as the President was the other day when he told them - he will veto it!

I agree with your rant and the President's.

No matter how the democrats whitewash their treachory they are giving aid and comfort to the enemy and making a soldiers tour in Iraq that much more dangerous. If I did not know better I would say that they celebrate every time one of our troops get killed --you know crocodile tears. What scum bags they are. Unfortunately the uninformed American Electorate is easily taken in by their propoganda. IOF vet

What's really got me pissed is that even if the President vetoes it, the troops are still at a loss for funding.

Well .. the public is going to be fiercely adamant about funding .. and if the Gathering of Eagles was any measure of our MAD .. I wouldn't mess with the public.

If the dems have any hope at all of getting in the WH they had better not leave our troops high and dry. Their lefty KOOKS are going to howl .. but that's the choice the dems will have to make.
