Giuliani campaigns in Newport Beach (and outlines his positions)

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani led off with his strongest card, his terrorism-fighting credentials, before touching on healthcare, immigration and energy policy in a speech to a welcoming crowd Saturday.

"Sept. 11, 2001, taught me — and I believe it taught a lot of people, including President Bush — that we have to remain on offense," Giuliani said. "That means that we have to use our military. We can't show weakness."

Giuliani seemed to hit all the right notes Saturday, getting applause when he criticized Democrats' stance on healthcare and advocated vouchers for schools.

On immigration, he told reporters he doesn't support amnesty for illegal immigrants, but he could support a guest worker program if there were adequate border security and tamper-proof ID cards. He said that even if illegal immigrants "can demonstrate that they are lawful, that they are paying taxes [and] that they'll pay penalties," they still shouldn't be put ahead of people who go through legal channels.

"And citizenship here, if it's earned, should be premised on being able to read and write English and understand American history, so we restore assimilation to the process of immigration," he said.

"Nothing will unite the Republicans more than a candidate who can beat Hillary Clinton," Curry said.

Their only arguments on that issue is that he threw Arafat out of a NYC event and was in NYC during 9/11/01.

And you'll hear crickets chirping when you tell them that Rudy did exactly nothing about the Palestinian who shot up the Empire State building exactly 10 years ago.

It reminds me of the typical Demonrat voter. They believe the lies and vote for them.

It's not so much that the FRiberals "believe" the lies, they AGREE with Rudy's liberalism.

I've accused him of being a Rudy campaign worker, or representative, and as of yet he has not denied being affiliated with them. Still waiting.

Naw, FO has been doing this since the California recall election, pimping for Arnold. The poster is a total GOP butt-smoocher.

What exactly did Rudy do in the wake of 9/11? Showing up at Ground Zero was the mayor's JOB. The fact that he didn't blow it the way Nagin did with Katrina merely means that he fulfilled his mayoral duties.

The Rudyites talk about 9/11 reminds me of sKerry's constant mention of Vietnam.

You know, you are right about that. I guess it is hard to believe this is a conservative sight and that so called conservatives are pushing liberalism. Might as well try the DU and we could argue the same issues. All we would have to ad is "I hate Bush, Bushes War stinks. Oh my. LOL

The politics of the FRiberals and Rudy are roughly in line (and in some cases to the left of) Joe Lieberman, Tom Daschle and Dick Gephardt.

Did you read the thread about how the commies wanted to infiltrate one or both parties in America?

They got one for sure, the other is losing ground.

Rudy has vowed NOT to push a pro abortion agenda and to elect [sic] conservative judges who may be able to repeal [sic] Roe V Wade even though I don't think that's going to happen.

Huh??? I don't recollect reading anywhere about any such vow. He bad-mouthed abortion before insisting he would do nothing to stop it. Is that the vow you mean? And I don't think he has ever once said he favors judges who will overturn Roe v. Wade. Instead, he has several times mentioned that he likes the same judges conservatives favor. Wow!

Can't we stop throwing around the label of "Liberal?"
Nope. Abortion, gun control and support for the 'stonewall vets' are ALL liberal positions, and Rudy embraces them.

When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

There are a lot of moral and Constitutional issues where Rudy is more like a hangnail.

We're not running AGAINST Hillary, we're rebuilding a platform of POSITIVE principles on which we STAND, One Nation Under God. That will beat her/him/whomever. Running from evil and liberalism (but I repeat myself) is cowardice and defeatism.

"Can't we stop throwing around the label of "Liberal?" No one here who is a member of the Republican Party is a "liberal" so this is just pure name calling childishness."

Is it still ok to call Lincoln Chafee a liberal? How about Arlen Specter? Olympia Snowe?

Were you aware that when you look up RINO (Republican in Name only) in wikipedia, it shows Rudy's picture?

And here I thought the GOP Platform is what was supposed to unite Republicans. Silly me.

"Just win, baby! Don't sweat the details!"

Yes, we know you are working hard for Republicans to LOSE and Democrats to WIN.

Well, despite all your hard work, Angelides got defeated and Hillary will get defeated too.
