Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani led off with his strongest card, his terrorism-fighting credentials, before touching on healthcare, immigration and energy policy in a speech to a welcoming crowd Saturday.
"Sept. 11, 2001, taught me and I believe it taught a lot of people, including President Bush that we have to remain on offense," Giuliani said. "That means that we have to use our military. We can't show weakness."
Giuliani seemed to hit all the right notes Saturday, getting applause when he criticized Democrats' stance on healthcare and advocated vouchers for schools.
On immigration, he told reporters he doesn't support amnesty for illegal immigrants, but he could support a guest worker program if there were adequate border security and tamper-proof ID cards. He said that even if illegal immigrants "can demonstrate that they are lawful, that they are paying taxes [and] that they'll pay penalties," they still shouldn't be put ahead of people who go through legal channels.
"And citizenship here, if it's earned, should be premised on being able to read and write English and understand American history, so we restore assimilation to the process of immigration," he said.
"Nothing will unite the Republicans more than a candidate who can beat Hillary Clinton," Curry said.

When you are wrong you should apologize. You were wrong.
This shows us the character of Rudyphiles. Not good representatives for a candidate.
Not that I believe you, but if it were true, I would take it as a compliment.
If anyone has something to say to me or about me, and hides behind private mail, then they must be afraid to post in public.
The words of cowards does not impress me. Your lack of class does not impress me.
And I'm not afraid to say it in public.
"Do you think Rudy is the best qualified candidate in the Republican primaries? If so, why?
Do you think Rudy's positions best represent the Republican Party? If so,why?
Do you think Rudy's past will be used against him?
If Rudy is not the candidate, will you support whoever it is?
Is there anyone you won't support? If so, Why?
Is there anything about Rudy you don't like? If yes, what?
Do you think Rudy is the only one who can beat Hillary? If so,why?"
On this thread alone, you have insulted my intelligence, my age, and my class, and have the nerve to think that after all that, we can NOW have a civil debate on the issues? Get real.
I wanted to debate these things with you last week because I was truly looking for answers to some questions. But you were too busy bashing me for all of the things above and then some, to actually engage in such. Then you and your buddies wrote the admin and told them I was a "troll". I had to have my posting privledges reinstated by the Lead Moderator. I know that was disappointing for.
After learning that you were more interested in shutting up people like myself, Rudy supporters, than you were in open dialogue of the candidates and issues, I found I have no use of your opinion. You burned that bridge. Not me.
Well, thats the way they answer legitimate questions.
Ask question to self ..If I ask Rudybot a question, do I expect an answer? If I do, then why?
LOL
It doesn't matter if they have an "R" or a "D" after their names, LIBERALS ARE LIBERALS and they are terrified of answering any question that exposes their liberalism. So, they resort to whining. When it comes to the FRiberal Rudybots, FACTS are simply meaningless.
They love to say, "well Rudy said he would appoint conservative judges and not push abortion and homosexuality."
And to that, I say: I'm old enough to have been duped by another Republican saying, "READ MY LIPS, NO NEW TAXES."
Here's an even better question:
Is Rudy the ONLY ONE who can beat Obama, how about Algore, or John Edwards, or Bill Richardson?
I didn't expect you to answer.
Nobody else did, I'm guessing.
I believe all of those questions may not be on the formatted Rudy talking points list. They were "off topic"
I'm still waiting for a real answer to the question I asked in #60 -- it seems that even a hypothetical candidate's views are too much to commit to.
She was suspended before for making false accusations.
She answered just as I knew she would.
She has a liberal way of fighting. One of those that never learn.
I still think when a person makes a mistake, and it pointed out with fact that you are wrong, an apology is in order.
"She was suspended before for making false accusations. "
Another lie. Boy are you on a roll!
are you STILL talking about me?
*snickerin* Im falttered.
Mr. Moderator.
I have been falsely called a liar.
Would you please confirm my post # 311.
I know you falttered. I am glad you weren't flattered.

Indy, are you now going to demand airborne apologize to me for intentionally posting false information about me and if he doesnt are you then going to whine about it for a few hours?
There's no question that I was called a liar in #246 and I was just talking about a hypothetical candidate.
