Is Jim Webb Unhinged?--Freep Poll (Vanity)
OldCorps ^ | 23 March 2007 | OldCorps

Posted on 03/28/2007 6:26:55 AM PDT by OldCorps

Fox news covered some of Sen. Webb's press conference yesterday in which he discussed the circumstances surrounding the arrest of one of his assistants for posession of a weapon and ammunition on the capital grounds. Being a former infantry soldier, I cut Sen. Webb a lot of slack because he has seen combat up close and was awarded the Navy Cross. However, he did seem a little...too intense at the interview and it appeared he was hanging a subordinate out to dry, which we military guys don't like even though it happens all the time.

So, what do you think fellow freepers?

Still breaks my heart to think of the extra burder they have brought down on President Bush.

No, I don't want to resurrect old arguments. Suffice it to say that neither of the two that I know of are on this thread.

Yeah, I know. I was just kidding (maybe). ;^) I could ping the one I know who voted for Webb, but I made an agreement with him to not bring it up every time something came up about Webb. Hard not to rub it in his face, but I gave him my word. [sigh]

100% certain he is hanging out his staffer.

To Webb it seems the staffer is an "oh well, next!" casualty.

Come to think about it, revolvers did use clips. During the fifties and sixties, you could buy a clip that held six rounds by the rims. The advantage was a flat, full load count. You simply peeled the soft rubber clip back to feed the rounds into the cylinder.
Speed loaders made them obsolete.

Since the articles mention two magazines, I'm going to assume the Senator owns a semiauto.

How embarrassing, I didn't even notice and my main hand gun is a revolver (with two speed loaders). I wonder which part the reporters got right. Revolver or clips.

In any case, you gotta wonder what he's planning to do with it all in the Capitol.

Look at my post 146. I mentioned it to a friend and he reminded me of Half-moon and Full-moon clips for revolvers which fire semi-automatic ammunition. A Smith and Wesson 25 is chambered for .45 Auto and uses Full-moon clips.

He also brought up the discussion as you did as far as wondering just what the reporters had correct.

Webb is a military man in the same vein as John Murtha and Charlie Rangel.

. . .and that makes him real close to a 'John Kerry' military example. . .I assume(?) Or perhaps he was just too early to be smart.

Whatever his past; he is a total embarassment to the great state of Virginia. . .and the rest of America who must tolerate such abject inferiority representing their interest in Washington. But so it goes, with any Democrat assuming power, post Election.

Thanks, Shooter. I had no idea there were Half-and Full-moon clips for revolvers (or clips for revolvers at all). My spouse has heard of same and is currently hunting up pictures for me.

I think the average reporter uses revolver and hand-gun interchangeably, and if you say semi-auto to them, they think of a full-auto set on three shot bursts. The idea of how a cartridge or shell is chambered wouldn't even enter their minds.

I thought Webb complained that North was hitting after the bell (not low blows) but I could be wrong.

I personally think he is a pervert and if you consider that as unhinged I agree that he is.

Thanks again, Shooter. Spouse's pic only showed the 3 star-like moons at the bottom of your picture. (Available in packages of 8 for $4.99 8^)
