Is Jim Webb Unhinged?--Freep Poll (Vanity)
OldCorps ^ | 23 March 2007 | OldCorps

Posted on 03/28/2007 6:26:55 AM PDT by OldCorps

Fox news covered some of Sen. Webb's press conference yesterday in which he discussed the circumstances surrounding the arrest of one of his assistants for posession of a weapon and ammunition on the capital grounds. Being a former infantry soldier, I cut Sen. Webb a lot of slack because he has seen combat up close and was awarded the Navy Cross. However, he did seem a little...too intense at the interview and it appeared he was hanging a subordinate out to dry, which we military guys don't like even though it happens all the time.

So, what do you think fellow freepers?

Is he a reliable vote for Schumer on gun control? He really needs to come clean on this, since, he is letting an innocent man take the fall. Who looks in the luggage of your boss? But, then, he is a Bolshecrat, where, principles and ethics vanish.

I heard he had a total of 42 rounds. Given the Senate has 100 members he appears to have been 57 rounds short (58 if suicide was intended).

There are two problems I have with the way Sen. Webb has acted in this matter:

1. He (Sen Webb) apparently did little to extricate a fellow marine from jail for an error which most likely was caused by himself (Webb).

2. He hemmmed and hawed at the press conference, avoiding taking responsibility for ownership and possession of the weapon while in DC. My take is Sen. Webb is showing he is more worried about criminal charges resulting from his own behavior than the fact that his own assistant was arrested for possesion of the senator's weapon.

I think it is low character to allow a subordinate to sit in jail for something you did wrong.

Webb is getting confused between some of the slimy characters in his book and his life as a democrat....

Not ALL of Northern Virginia, than you very much. Stafford County went solidly for George Allen.

"P.S. I told as many Virginians as possible that it would be a big mistake to elect him. Too many of them didn't listen."

Webb's narrow win (9000 votes) was due to fraudulent voting by illegal aliens who were actively recruited and registered by groups like LaRaza. And it's getting worse - there are few real audits on what's going on in voter registrations. Anybody can set up shop on a cardtable at the Safeway to register voters, very few questions asked or documents required.

Webb reminds me of an weatherman I saw on T.V. in Evansville, Indiana. His hairpiece kept falling off and he had those "deer in the headlights" looks all of the time. The dude was a hoot to watch, and I always did whenever I was up there on business. So far, Webb has been a hoot to watch too, and I can only wonder what this dufus will do next? He's the Anna Nicole Smith of the Senate, and we all know he's a trainwreck just waiting to happen. Gonna' be a lot of fun coming our way with that a$$hat clown!

I still think he looks like Larry Flynt -- just as smarmy, too, with his pornographic books!

I saw him on Fox News last night, too. Just a lot of double-talk and politic-speak. Your description of it is right-on!
