Steve Forbes Joins Giuliani Campaign

Steve Forbes, former Republican presidential candidate, President and Chief Executive Officer of Forbes, and Editor-in-Chief of Forbes magazine has endorsed Rudy Giuliani for President of the United States. Mr. Forbes will serve as a National Campaign Co-Chair and Senior Policy Advisor:

“I am honored to support Rudy Giuliani for President,” Steve Forbes said. “As Mayor of New York City, Rudy Giuliani showed how exercising fiscal discipline – including tax cuts – lowers deficits, spurs economic growth, and increases revenue. It is time the rest of the country benefit from a true fiscal conservative leader who gets real results.”

“Steve and I share an economic vision that embraces supply-side economics, tax relief, and spending restraint,” said Mayor Giuliani. “I look forward to working with Steve and am proud to have him as a member of our team.”

Nice addition, as those of us who value economic liberty certainly look to Mr. Forbes as a leader on that front.

In college some of my roomates played a Steve Forbes drinking game. You took a shot whenever a Forbes ad was run. Most of them were down for the count before 9:00PM.

LOL.

I saw this one coming right about after Trump and the Log Cabins. Seems like everyone who despises George W. Bush, hates Social Conservatives, and believes Bush to be the worst President ever is on board the Rudy train.

Strange that Rudy doesn't seem to mind, isn't it? Trump calls Bush the worst President ever, Rudy shakes his hand and touts his support as a positive.

Hey, I guess anything for power, right? If that means campaigning with people who publicly call Bush the worst President ever, so be it.

The only way the "All or Nothings" or Rudy haters will snap from their vile against the man is when "she" is taking the oath in 2009 and receiving congraturoy messages from Bin Laden, Chavez, the nut jobs that run the show in Iran and North Korea.

Excellent -- I've always liked Steve Forbes (his turn on SNL was hilarious). Smart guy, oddly charismatic (but sadly not very presidential.)

Being from New York Mr. Giuliani would be more of a bagel than toast...unless of course you make that toasted rye or pumpernickel.

Giuliani Sues U.S. Over Welfare Law (Rudy, that law and order conservative)
NY Times ^ | Oct 12, 1996 | staff

Posted on 03/28/2007 7:48:36 AM PDT by pissant

Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani filed a lawsuit against the Federal Government yesterday, challenging provisions of the new welfare and immigration laws that allow city employees to turn in illegal immigrants who seek services like police protection, hospital care and public education.

The Mayor called the provisions unconstitutional and said they would overturn a New York City executive order in effect since 1985 that forbids city employees to report illegal immigrants. He argued that the measures violated the 10th Amendment, which gives states those powers not expressly delegated to the Federal Government.

In this case, Mr. Giuliani said, ''it would be the police power to protect the health and safety of people, which is a power that is uniquely granted to state and local governments.''

The Mayor, who announced plans to file the lawsuit last month, said that other local officials, including the mayors of St. Paul and Chicago, were considering similar legal challenges.

Mr. Giuliani repeated his concerns that under the new law, the city's estimated 400,000 illegal immigrants would stop sending their children to public schools, stop reporting crimes and avoid seeking treatment for contagious diseases in city hospitals out of fear that officials would report them to the Federal Government.
