Dismissal of U.S. Attorneys

Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT) chairs a Judiciary Cmte. hearing on the hiring and firing of U.S. Attorneys. D. Kyle Sampson, the former chief of staff to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, appears and is expected to testify that he did nothing wrong in coordinating the firing of eight U.S. Attorneys.

Also expect questions over who and when that provision was added to the Patriot Act...

Look for Leahy and the Dems to get all huffy about the GOP "sneaking" it into the language of the Patriot Act bill, "in the dead of night"...but, that isn't true.

That clause had its own title...and was in the bill long before the bill was voted on, IF the dems read the bill, the would have seen it.

If you're watching the Book Fair, he's right; You can go from stoop to stoop picking up college books, hardcovers and paperbacks till this day in Park Slope, Crown Heights and other neighborhoods. That reminds me, I have four crates of kid's classics and old curriculum books to put out for the yutes to grab.
