Obama: Bush Not Respecting Constitution [ "I was a constitutional law professor......]

Obama: Bush Not Respecting Constitution Mar 30 04:23 PM US/Eastern By BRENDAN FARRINGTON TALLAHASSEE, Fla.

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama on Friday accused President Bush of failing to respect the Constitution amid the uproar over the firing of eight federal prosecutors.

The Illinois senator also took a swipe at embattled Attorney General Alberto Gonzales. Obama has joined several other Democrats in calling for Gonzales to resign.

"I was a constitutional law professor, which means unlike the current president I actually respect the Constitution," Obama told an audience at a campaign fundraiser. "I believe in an attorney general who is actually the people's lawyer, not the president's lawyer."

Obama's remarks drew one of the most enthusiastic responses in a speech often interrupted by applause.

Gonzales acknowledged Friday there is confusion about his role in firing the eight U.S. attorneys last fall. His former chief of staff, Kyle Sampson, told Congress Thursday that prosecutors put on a list to be fired got there in part because they were not deemed "loyal Bushies."

During his stop in Florida, Obama held a brief meeting with Democratic lawmakers and then spoke for about three minutes to more than 100 college students who held an impromptu rally outside an IMAX theater where he held his fundraiser.

"I just hope that everyone here has that same sense of urgency that I do," Obama told the students. "I hope the young people in particular use this campaign as a vehicle to get involved and engaged. This is one of those rare moments where we could change history, and those moments don't come that often. So I hope that all of you take advantage of it."

Inside the fundraiser, which was a sellout at 640 tickets and raised about $150,000, people packed a room and balcony.

"I can just see all of the south and midwest voting for a guy named Obama : )"

Fact is, Northeast liberals won't vote for him either. Neither will they vote for Hillary. Talk about people who will stay home on election day if either one of these fools wins the nomination.

Bill CLinton was a Constitutional law professor too.

Trouble is he spent all his time trying to figure out loopholes, just like Obama will. Anyone who would use the phrase "Social Darwinism" to describe what is in fact the condition of political liberty, as Obama did recently, has no business talking about the Constitution.

Okay, so exactly how did President Bush disrespect the Constitution?

Well, there is that McCain-Feingold thing. And as far as "No Child Left Behind," I'm still looking for that part in the Constitution that gives the federal government any role at all in establishing educational curriculum.

big whoop...

Folks do people realize how overpopulated we are with law schools?

They are still adding NEW law schools.

There are more first year seats across the nation than there are applicants.

ANYONE, and I do mean ANYONE, can get a law degree now from some law school some place.

So the opening s for a constitutional law professor is no big deal any more.

"I was a constitutional law professor, which means unlike the current president I actually respect the Constitution,"

What does being a "constitutional law professor" have to do with respecting the Constitution? Who does this guy think we are?

That means he has glanced at 200 plus years of what judges say the simply and succinct constitution really means.

More of that much-vaunted "articulateness".

He has written about the "elastic constitution", and even that has no mention of an attorney general which is not a constitutional office.

>>>"I was a constitutional law professor, which means unlike the current president I actually respect the Constitution."<<<

Obama is a pathological liar, just like Bill Clinton who also name-dropped the constitution from time-to-time to fool the masses. But in reality the constitution is anathema to leftists since it stands in the way of their Stalinist goals. If leftists was forced to follow the original intent of the constitution they would be indistinguishable from conservatives.

"Someone should do him in adobe.."

That would be mean. And how would you get him to stand still while it dried?

Very mean, you should be ashamed!

You bet! But I think you can see that logic and law are not the goals of this exercise, it's to fan more BDS.

George Clooney stated that OBAMA actually left Clooney breathless.

I knew there was something really weird about Clooney besides the liberalism...:)

...He didn't fail the bar exam. He taught at the University of Chicago Law School. Since he was in the top of his class at Harvard Law School, he's probably not a legal idiot.

No, maybe he's not an 'legal' idiot.
Does he know how to start a lawnmower, or change the oil? Does he know how to clean the gutters on a house? Does he know how to use the scanner at a market place? (hey, bodyguards, what's a debit card?)

My point being he taught at Chicago. BFD!
