"You can just noticed a previously unobserved elephant in the living room.
God knows what else this stuff is in."
BINGO!
Not long ago I read an article (either Newsweek or US News and World Reports?) about the growth of and demand for organic foods and how traditional American organic farmers cant keep up with the demand and said many companies who produce and package organic foods are buying from
you guessed it China.
Farmers who want their produce, grains, etc. to be labeled Organic have to meet strict USDA certifications as do any consumer end products but ingredients grown in other countries well we just take their word for it and trust their certifications.
I would suspect this is a problem extends beyond organic foods and pet food scary.

Why do we import food from China?
This is just plain idiotic. All these dog food and cat food companies need to be sued for their short-term financial greed that led to the death of these animals. Bet buying from China looked good on their financial reports. Idiots.

I'm sorry about your sweet dog. I have a cat here today with anorexia--and this cat never stops crying for food. I just hope I am being paranoid.

Oh, sure. You remember how helpful they were when that SARS thing happened? That was a huge "hurry up and forget" coverup for the ChiComs and their nasty bio experiments.
They have so many people that human life has no value, and Communism does not allow conscience. The ChiComs are some really scary people.
Every time I hear about this stuff from China, I hate Bill Clinton just a little more.

Organic food from China means it was fertilized with peasant poop.

Why the hell would the United States or Canada need to import any grain product from China? Same reason US companies fire US employees and hire Chinese and Indians -- their CFOs are eager for a few more bucks. It may look good short-term, but results in decreased quality and eventually (hopefully!) lower profits.
The short answer: $$$

Get in on the lawsuits!!! these people need to be taught a lesson.
I am so sorry for your loss. I don't know what I would do if my darling Lola, the pupster, were to die. And then to know it was greed that did it.

Aren't we subsidizing our farmers? Yes, mostly we pay them not to plant to keep prices up. It is even done with corn right now for the upcoming season despite increased demand from ethanol production.
