That is what I have been wondering. I thought ag products were the one place where we were supposed to have a competitive advantage.

Same reason US companies fire US employees and hire Chinese and Indians -- their CFOs are eager for a few more bucks. It may look good short-term, but results in decreased quality and eventually (hopefully!) lower profits.

Ethanol production from feed grains has changed us from an exporter to an importer.
They probably buy grain from us and then make the gluten and sell it back to us.
Because American does not make the poison kind.

Because they can buy stuff from China that's not fit for human consumption (or apparently pets, either) for dirt-cheap prices? One imagines this is the case, anyway.
