the U.N. Security Council issued a statement of grave concern.....rejected the United Kingdoms request that the statement deplore Irans actions. Well, THAT will teach those Persians a lesson .... but, oh if only we could have gotten it 'deplored' also,.....NOW THAT would have REALLY, REALLY made a difference.
Yes siree, Bob, you wouldn't see those Iranians even entering foreign waters again, let alone actually making contact with other vessels or taking hostages.

By now the Britain of Thatcher or Churchill would have leveled a few thousands Iranian acres into a smoking dump. God, where are people with balls when you need them?

Holy crap. What the HELL IS GOING ON!?!?!?
Send a general to say, "Do you guys just love men stronger and healthier than you or what? Are you in need of some physical trainers or something? Stop stealing our soldiers or you will never see a drop of gasoline flow again!"
"Are you guys secretly gay?"

The officer should only say "give us our sailors and boats or say goodbye to Tehran".

I hope they got the Iranian side of this "deal" in writing. Wouldn't surprise me a bit if Britain said they'd never enter Iranian waters to be followed by Iran saying not good enough, you didn't admit to being in our waters and didn't say please enough, then put the troops on trial.

"I feel bad for the Brits."
I don't. Not anymore. A nation that chooses weakness and vacillation will receive assault and humiliation. The nation of Disraeli, Admiral Nelson, Churchill, and Thatcher is dead, replaced by a sensitive, multicultural organism that is accepting sharia. National suicide seems to be all the rage in Britain.

They wouldn't dare do this to Americans. You forgot Jimmuh and 444 days of mostly Howdy Dowdy. These people smell out weakness like a pig smells out truffles.

Saw Newt Gingrich on CSPAN today. He said his plan would be to tell Iran( in secret so they could save face), that they had x days to turn them over or we will destroy your only refinery and blockade your ports. In less than 1 month, all of Iran will be walking.
His point was how easy it would be to bring them literally to their knees, and here we are fretting over a tin horn dictatorship. They have one refinery,,,....ONE! One cruise missile and these guys have riots in the streets. This could all be over with a well placed RPG!
God, I hope Newt runs, he was outstanding!

What happened to the crew of the merchant ship?
Were they arrested, too?
They must have been in Iranian waters also.
I just wonder nobody mentions them or asked them about the position of their ship.

Let's remove any material in this article which isn't a direct quote of a person in the know, in other words, an actual British official:
"___________________"
I think the actual UK article might be a wee bit more clear than second or third or fourthhand info which doesn't even tell us who the Telegraph sourced in the article to which the Persian allegedly refers. They don't even quote "Becket" or tell you who this "Becket is" in the article.

Yes they would. They've done it before (and got away with it). Course, you didnt have any decent leadership then.
