yes, I wish I could say I got SO MUCH done on the home front.. but just not the case.
There is a real sense of loss when you cannot connect with people you care about.. for whatever reason.
at least for me
I'm really glad you like the new Military opening - thought it would be a nice change, and the perfect time to redo it. Happy to get all the rest of the regular thread toppers redone to match the main post, too. :)
This is so much fun, the way we’re all here at once.
Well, I met a soldier today. I have heard about this soldier for the past 3 months. She is the sister of my co-worker.
When my workmate and I started this assignment back in early January, I learned in one of our early conversations that her Sis had just joined the Army... then later heard she would graduate Boot in March.
So, last week she mentioned Sis was in town (”back home”) for 2 weeks on leave. Today, she brought Sis in so I could meet her. What an awesome moment! What a wonderful young woman! I could see her strength and commitment. So, I shook her hand and thanked her, also congratulated her on graduating Top of her Class.
Any questions? :)
Special ping to 183.
Hi Gee Bee.. thinking of you in so many ways...
your new home.. see the flowers (spring variety) pop up for hopefully wonderful surprises.
Your son
Your daughter
you..
what a wonderful story..
any pix?
I would be going NUTS!
I was without my laptop for about...ummmmmm...three days and I had to go buy a new one. I couldn’t stand it.
I used hubby’s a little, but it was like I “hijacked” it. LOL!
He couldn’t get anything done, because I was there all the time! :D
It’s been a while that we just sat around and chatted with each other!
Thank you for telling us about the soldier. Thank her for me for her service.
I get to do that occasionally and I love how it brightens their faces. It’s like they don’t hear it that often. A real shame!
will there be a change for JH2? I just (sorta) finalized MY version of the thread..special pix “frames” & a little modification of the primary table.
Also finally did MY take on a good prayer list.. I never did like the one I used for a year or so
No, didn’t have a camera with me... didn’t think fast enough if they did I could have got a picture with this awesome woman serving our country...
Thanks (((Dolly)))
My son left for the Coast Guard, Monday. I’m having a rough week. :) I miss him. I cannot express how much. I’m really proud of him too! No flowers yet. I can’t believe you had snow. That’s not right. ;) Spring shows and winter tricks us and comes back. :)
Great to see you, Dolly!!
Billie’s artwork is beautiful.
well .. there is a LOT going on in my life.. some good & some not.. so I have been otherwise occupied.
But life is good & sweet & we must capture the moments we can to appreciate the things of value
I’m glad you got to meet your co-worker’s sister, dita. Bet your co-worker was very proud to show her off! Did you get to see her in uniform, or maybe she was in street clothes since being on leave?
She did say, “We really appreciate your support.” That was because I blab about how I love the troops to my co-worker and she tells Sis... LOL.
This soldier had a bad experience while in town, wearing her uniform. Some slavering pinko nutcase cut her off and started ranting anti-military crapola at her. Disgusting!
Anyway, she’s due to deploy to OIF approx. July.
Dita
Great story to read. This is the best of days, experience you had. God Bless this brave young woman. Our Hero! Thanks for sharing this. :)
Very proud!! She was in civvies. Maybe I’ll get another chance tomorrow and get a pic... don’t know.
Her demeanor was so straight up... I think she is proud of herself. I couldn’t hug her because I think I would have cried.
Yes, she is a gifted artist....
And your work isn't exatly "shabby" Missy!
John's is changed, too - to match the coin background. I think you can certainly make some modifications in the main table, as long as the coin background is still featured, and the two tables (topper and main opening post) match. I sent it to your regular email address over the weekend, I think. Do you need it again? The text worked in regular FR mail because there are no line breaks in the text.
