To those that don't know Savage or listen to him, he claims to be an "independent conservative"... He surely does espouse some conservative views, but the vile he spews towards Bush, his cabinet, and other Republicans and GOPers could be mistaken for Air America trash.
It would be easy to blow him off as another looney blow-hard, but he's the 3rd most listened-to talk show host in the nation... He has over 8 million listeners, and in calling himself a conservative, he DOES have some real influence there. He's supposed to be on our side, but shifts positions so often, he's become a joke. He embodies every lefty criticism of our side.
In listening to parts of his show last night, he has the following things to say, in a short time span...
* Syria isn't nearly as bad as Iran, they can be spoken to, they don't threaten Israel, they are nationalists not fundamentalists
* The war was started to benefit Oil companies.
* Blasted Bush to no end, said Rice should have been fired a long time ago, blasted the rest of the cabinet
* Said it was OK for Pelosi to go talk to Syria
* Asked why is there a division between GOP and Dems, why do we automatically assume everything they do should be hated, etc.
In my view, this scum is far more dangerous than Air America and nearly every lib out there. He's pretending to be a conservative, yet does more damage to our causes than any other non-politician I can think of, because he has the influence to sway people.
This guy is an utter disgrace and a phony.
I took your advice, and posted a separate thread on this lying sac. Yesterday was worse than usual, his whole pro-Pelosi jibberish was so over the top, it made me want to scream. His dismissal of many of his callers was equally reprehensible.
Savage claimed Syria isn’t a threat to Israel? If so, his ignorance of both history and current events is monumental.
I don’t enjoy him. He’s too self centered, bombastic, and nasty.
Anyone who questioned his praise of the Mafia Princess was dismissed as a RushBot. Syria supplies Hezbollah with the missles they attack Israel with. Pulosi is a Useful Idiot.
He should direct more of his fire towards Hillary and the lying libs, yet he pounds our side more ferociously than the Dems do. He’s also the most negative, depressing, self-promoting fool around
Wow, I haven’t heard his show in a while and sometimes I got turned off by him, but sometimes I liked that he attacked the Republicans when they started drifiting left. However, what’s with the Pelosi love-fest?

Bush and AG AG need to give more than lip service to controlling the borders of the US and Iraq. Syria is a tool of Iran.
He also blasted Dennis Miller, who's already started to chip away at Savage's audience. He referred to Miller as "an idiot comedian who has no audience"... Miller replaced him on some of his markets, and Savage is bitter. boo-hoo
Savage got his start in SF and spoke to Pelosi a few times when he was just a local — he and Pelosi were on the same side in many issues related to China. SO that relationship goes back about 11 years+, IIRC. It does’nt surprise me that he would cut Pelosi some slack if he believed it was deserved.
Savage is an independent thinker and he will go after ANY politician that he believes does not properly defend “border, language, culture”. He has changed a lot over the years, but I will give him credit — he was WAY ahead of the illegal immigration curve and has his head screwed on right on many issues.
But, if you are expecting a Rush Clone from a talk show host calling himself a conservative, Savage will disappoint. Personally, I have some real problems with what he has become in the last 12 years and rarely listen to him anymore, but your comments show me that he retains a high degree of intellectual integrity and independent thinking. WTH ever happened to the “Big Tent” anyway?
I rarely even listen to MS and agree with you on Savage. I heard a bit of his tripe on Pelosi Assad last night....he is or has been going off the rails for a while.
Or as you say, possibly just another “Red Diaper Doper”!

I enjoy every minute of Savage. I don’t always agree but I do enjoy listening to him when I can.

I couldn't believe that! Callers who said they were otherwise fans of the show were blasted cause they asked why he was so supportive of Pelosi...
I'll tell you why... it undermines Bush, and in doing so, it greatly pleases Weiner.
At least he is not a Water Boy for the Republican Party. We had too many of those and look where it got us.
I have to agree with you. While I can’t stand to listen to Savage, some things need to be said. Just because some politician is great 90% of the time doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be hammered on the other 10%.
