Ran into a friend yesterday, her dog died 3 weeks ago.

Your little dog is adorable. I’m sorry you lost him. I lost my first Golden at 15 1/2 and we swore we wouldn’t have another.
We had all the excuses — too busy, never home, no time for a puppy, etc. We waited nearly 4 years and then we adopted a dog from a rescue organization. It was the smartest thing we ever did.
We have to admit that he is even a better dog than his predecessor. Probably not as smart, but he does not have some of her irritating habits either. He comes to work with us every day and has taken over the corner office. he has traveled coast to coast with us and is a perfect gentleman. He will be going to NY with us next week.

I had fed my two dogs and one cat some of the original recalled food. The cat wouldn’t eat it, and we’d have to throw it away (Special Kitty pouches). So far he is okay. And my dogs had eaten some Alpo cuts and gravy, and we got rid of it as soon as we saw the recall.
All of them seem to be okay as of now. As soon as I saw the recalls I started making my own dog food, and they love it. I’d have a hard time getting them to go back to commercial food, and it’s really not that difficult to make some for them. I add extra vitamens that I got from my vet to supplerment the food.
