Well, naturally I can’t find Paces speech, but this is where he made the comments.

The Keeper of the Flame Awards were presented to Rep. Hunter and five outstanding representatives of Those Who Serve in the U.S. armed forces by House Appropriations Committee Chairman Jerry Lewis and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Peter Pace, respectively.

Sweet! Although it will make Duncan Hunter a target of the libs who see the SBVT as the spawn of the devil,they will be coming after him anyway in the general if he wins the primaries, and I think it will only help his standing among conservatives and vets who might have been considering another candidate.

The fact that Mr. O'Neill was a Democrat until recently and was never really a fan of President Bush is more evidence that we don't need to become liberals in order to get crossover and independent voters. There are many people out there who don't fit a simple straight-line categorization of political views. We don't get their votes by moving to the left. We get their votes by showing them that we can best represent what they believe.
