Laura I...just said that Nancy Pelosi is refusing to go to the meeting with Petraeus that he does for the House members.
She met with him for a few minutes...and that is all she has time for.
I read somewhere that Harry Reid already said that no matter what Petraeus says, he won’t believe him.
These people are dangerously partisan stupid.
She has got this whole thing completely wrong. She says the Pentagon wanted the Tillman story to be as it was. That is utterly incorrect. Within a month, the military had the correct story out. This is NOT a Pentagon level issue regardless of Mrs. Tillman's wild speculations and guesses about the character of Don Rumsfeld.
Pelosi wanted a one on one meeting with Petraeus. She thinks she is the President.
BTW...I am listening to the meeting on C-span 3...with Waxman’s groups discussing what subpoenas to issue re: RNC memos...and Condi.
Rep. Mica, Davis and McHenry...have brought up Sandy Berger...because Waxman is using the Hatch Act that pertains to Presidential records.
THEY say that if this hearing has to do with THAT..should pertain to their right to Berger...at a hearing.
Waxman just said he is ONLY wanting RNC e-mail records and Berger’s case is NOT GERMANE.
OF COURSE!

Whenever the camera was pointed toward them, the bent their heads down so WE the TV audience could read it.

He is using the 1978 Presidential Act(?)...and Hatch Act..to go after the RNC and Karl Rove.
However...the GOP are saying if he is using that as a predicate to request his subpoenas...then that establish’s a basis for THEM to go after Sandy Berger...
But, Waxman is fighting that..saying that when the GOP was in power, THEY turned over everything...thus, Burton points out NO, they didn’t which opened the door for Clinton’s Pardongate to be brought up.
Waxman “narrow subpoena”...he is still fighting it..

Waxman is totally misrepresenting the SOTU address...and the evidence used re: Niger...just like he totally misrepresented that “hearing” with Valerie Plame..being about how she was OUTED.
He is using expensive GOVERNMENT time to perpetrate a FRAUD investigation!!!!
He goes on and on about how the LAST Congress didn’t have any hearings..but the reason they didn’t is because the GOP wasn’t trying to impeach the POTUS.
