Hillary Won't Do Fox Debate Either
The Politico (via Dridge) ^ | April 09, 2007 | Ben Smith

Posted on 04/09/2007 7:51:07 PM PDT by blogblogginaway

The third shoe drops: Hillary's not doing the Fox News/CBC Debate either.

Clinton spokesman Blake Zeff emails, "We're going to participate in the DNC-sanctioned debates only. We've previously committed to participating in the SC and Tavis Smiley debates."

No word yet from Kucinich and Gravel, or the other campaigns, or from Fox, which could presumably do an empty podium hour and confirm to its viewers that Democrats are, in fact, the cowards it's often portrayed them as. Sounds win-win to me.

The pajama media will beat the lame stream media all the way to the election.

"FOX should take out an ad in newspapers around the country calling the RATS cowards for not wanting to debate."

Even better- have the debate anyway with an empty podium.

The moderator should pause for a full 2 minutes after every question to hear the democrats' "rebuttal".

I love that idea. The questions could be answered by various sound bites. I especially love the one where Hillary said we might have to take things from you......

LOL, that would be the end of her career. FOX could bury all the dem candidates.

Awesome!

This is EXACTLY the kind of superficial ‘water cooler’ type issue that is EXTREEMLY useful in convincing the non-engaged voters that the dems just aren’t fit for executive office.

A great gift for us

We did fine with paper ballots until the Gore faux crisis in 2000, which was the excuse used to foist electronic machines with impeachable audit trails upon the citizenry.

We should go back to all-paper, verifiable ballots.

Yeah, go ahead, call me a voting-machine Luddite! ;^)

And while we’re going low-tech, I’m a big fan of dyed fingers like they did in Iraq.

Two of these three have a history of wanting the questions in advance. Wonder if that same request was made of Fox and turned down.

I think that's a sure bet.

Funny. Republicans for years and years have caved into the liberals concept of “debates” and have showed up (or get beat up in the liberal press they, for some reason, fear) and do the ridiculous “two minute answer, one minute rebuttal” format with questions from a left wing jerk-off like Tim Russert, etc.

So the Dems can’t take the heat of a forum that just might be more fair? Which, of course, I totally doubt since I’d bet Fox would make them just as boring and a waste of time.

Now, with FoxNews WAY AHEAD in viewership than all other news outlets why would these Dem candidates do this? Because it’s the primaries and they know they are feeding the read meat to their base (or in the case of moronic Dems, feeding them leaf lettuce) and are making points in the press.

But if FoxNews had the actual presidential debates once the candidates are nominated, there is no way the Dem loser turns it down.

But, then again, the “official” debate groups won’t offer it to Fox.

All this is moot.

Folks, it looks like we have a new disease developing: PDWD (Progressive Debate Withdrawal Disease).

Disease Origin: Progressive People.
Disease Numbers: 4
Disease Victims: 75% white. 25% Black.
Disease Contagiousness: Very unlikely outside Progressive peoples.
Disease Cure: Non Progressives do not give a rats *ss.
Disease Research Funding: Progressives are progressively writing a bill, from all corners of the world, where only non-progressive will pay the funding.

Oh my! Bed Time!

1. None of the the candidates want to be in any debate unless they think they can steamroll their opponents.

2. Any debate exposes the candidate to possibly damaging mistakes. Do as few debates as possible.

3. They are gunning for FoxNews and even though the debates are run in an ordinary way and not any different from a CBS or NBC debate, the candidates can get a shot off at Fox and avoid a debate they do not want to go to anyway.

4. If anyone is paying attention, should the Democrats come to power the "Fairness" doctrine will return to be ruthlessly applied to talk radio and FoxNews or anything else they can set their cloven hooves on.
