If that’s the case, Fox really screwed up this announcement. They made it sound like it WAS in remission but is back. Sheesh...

My mother had Lymphoma. Had lumps the size of golf balls on her lungs. From the time of her first MRI until they finally diagnosed it after her second biopsy, a period of about 80 days, it was in spontaneous remission. 2 months later it was completely gone without treatment.

Prayers for Fred and family.

FOX is prone to crazy “Breaking News” stuff.

You might be right.

This stuff takes a while to iron out.

I think we are past the time when a diagnose of a manageable disease would automatically put the kibosh on a political career, or any career. People fight all kinds of diseases and they should be given the opportunity to live full lives as they do, if they are able. I said this about Elizabeth Edwards and it’s as true for Fred Thompson.

I doubt that Fred Thompson will be running for the nomination.

Why do you doubt that? Thompson knew he had Lymphoma when he first said he might be interested. If this is just getting the news out, it probably indicates that he is more likely than not to throw his hat in the ring.

I hope so!

Perhaps all the candidates should make their full medical records public now.

I agree... retroactive as well. ;)

Arlen Specter had a much worse form and he seems to have fought it off.

It’s in remission. Seems he’s getting this announcement out of the way as part of his decision on whether he will run for President.

I hope this is the case
