While I think IMUS is a lib moron. I think it is scary how much power Al Sharpton has. He probably still isn’t satisfied that IMUS was fired. Nothing will be good enough to shut Sharpton up.

There’s a poll on the Imus firing on AOL. 60% of the respondents say CBS was wrong to fire Imus. 47% say that Imus has handled the situation extremely well. 75% say that the amount of attention given to this matter is excessive.

BS...Stern was on radio for years saying worse and nothing happened to him. Were it not for his weird mother-child sex thing and declining ratings, he’d still be on air. I did not think the Duke boys did anything but hey... I’m continually amazed at the white sheets that flutter whenever stories like this pop up. I’m outta here.

Censoring local radio transmissions will be a big blow to freedom. Satellite and Internet will keep the information flowing.

It was rude, crass, and perhaps mildly offensive but the way the MSM has spun this thing one would think that he launched into a Michael Richards-style n-word tirade on the air. He didn't. He simply told an off color joke.

That perfectly describes the new standard that's been set. Any comment containing a reference to race and/or gender that is crude and classless qualifies. It's not an automatic disqualifier to broadcast though. It must be called out by an official arbiter of racism or sexism.

Outrageous.

As any Freeper is liable to tell you, Capitalist companies can employ whomever they choose.

I wonder how much money those two shakedown artists have raised for charity. I know a lot of people don’t like boycots, but I think we should boycot the products of any contributor to the Rainbow Coalition. Jesse lives off this and supports his numerous mistresses off this. Let’s cut off his money supply.

“Remember Rush being fired from ESPN?”

ESPN exists to hype professional sports. ESPN and professional sports live off one another. I would not call what ESPN does journalism.

I can’t believe either of them are being given a shred of credibility. They’ve both been race baiters for as long as I can remember. And the networks are acting like they’re respectable “leaders” we should look to. It’s insane.

There was no groundswell on this Rutgers thing. It was too spontaneous way after the fact.

Absolutely right. Imus thought he had insulated himself against this eventuality but his demise proved useful as part of the larger effort.

"There is more of "that" where that came from...."

Cut that out... I'm telling Rev. Sharpton and he'll get you.

It is backlash time. Email General Motors and say I would never buy a car from Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson and I sure would not buy one from a company that took its marching orders from them.
