It was just announced on the "Mike and the Mad Dog Show" on WFAN (Imus's home base): Imus is out of a job on radio as well.

He will not even be on the air tomorrow.

Yes, Imus has been very good regarding children cancer victims. He goes to all the funerals of the poor kids from the Ranch who die over the course of the year.

And, for the record, Imus attacks everyone: Jews, blacks, Irish, Italians, secretaries, presidents, you name it. It’s called HIS ACT. If people didn’t like it, they should have put on Fox & Friends or Today. This is sickening.

We’re forced to listen to this ho crap on every jingle, show introduction, radio station, DVD and CD but some old geezer of a liberal says ho and the pack of liberal dogs eat him alive.

“This is a perfect opportunity for CBS/Hillary to put some rabid left winger in Imus’s slot...”

Nah, Ann Coulter would be perfect.

I think it was the totality of Imus’s comments over the years that finally caught up with him.
The suits at NBC and CBS and Sprint and General Motors can pretend they never heard him call Mother Teresa, the week that she died- “ a no good bitch.”
Or that he referred to blacks as apes, gorillas and lawn jockeys.
Or that just this past Good Friday , his side kick, McGuirk posing as Cardinal Egan of the Archdiocese of New York ,was wishing Mrs Imus would find an erection on the day of the resurrection.
His Jewish guests were routinely called Jewboys and beanie wearers.
President Bush was a moron and an idiot and Cheney was a war criminal- perhaps that was the shield that protected Imus.
All of the above was perfectly fine for the sponsors and CBS and NBC and the fawning cavalcade of liberal Democrats and pundits who daily appeared on his show.
But, suddenly nappy hair sends them all running for the tall grass ?
And in a million years, neither Rush Limbaugh nor any other conservative host would say the things that CBS and NBC encouraged Imus to say over the years.
And paid him a king’s ransom for doing it.
The hypocrisy of the regular Democrat guests ,the sponsors and CBS and NBC is astounding.

He has a five year contract with CBS. They’ll probably try to weezle out of it by claiming he violated the ‘morals’ clause. So, there’ll be a duel. Weapons of choice? Lawyers at 50 paces.

Kudos Rush. You have more than earned your $50,000 for today’s show. Can’t wait to go home and watch the entire show again.

Oops.. I meant ~ $125,000. Sorry Rush, didn't mean to offend. I could still be wrong but I think its closer. The point is whatever you make, you are underpaid.

He’ll pop up someplace else. CBS has the right to fire him. Now they will probably have to pay his contract while he finds a new network.

Then how do you reconcile the attacks and non-contrition of Sharpton and Jackson? How does all the intentional blindness and deafness regarding them help race relations? That’s my point here.

I don’t know anybody here who’s defending Imus’ comments, certainly I’m not. And I don’t like shock-jocks period, don’t listen to them.
But when was the last time that whites or Jews or asians or.... organized against the hatred of Al and Jesse? Like never...

“I haven’t seen ONE black on TV supporting Imus’ right to free speech.”

If you watched Hannity & COlmes the other night, you’d have seen 2. Patrice (a black comedian) and Armstrong Williams.

Reign it in Howlin.

Tell me about it. The buttons exist for a reason. The irony is Imus has actually toned it down over the last few years.

Imus was on a roll of disgusting humor. I’m not sure he even knew how offensive he was.

When the statement is made that blacks did this, to me, it is as blanket as “republicans are mean”.

Some blacks agree with this decision, some whites do too. But looking at the MSM, seeing black people condemning this jerk and concluding that it was a black movement is wrong. The MSM didn’t get a conservative black to talk about it, just the libs.

I find myself using black vernacular. Someone not knowing my family might be offended. The Rutgers team didn’t deserve to be called Hos. Imus should have been able to apologize and that was that.

“Bo just mentioned that Imus diverted his plane the other day to pick up a child with cancer so he could get treatment. The child happned to be black. Doesn’t sound to me like Imus was a racist.”

Taken out of context that sounds like an act of generosity, and if Bo had not been saying it all over the airwaves, it could have been. First, Bo Deitl is a fool of the first order who was made famous by Imus, and consequentally, rich. His sponsor on his frequent appearances on the Imus show were sponsored by Net Jet, a service both he and Don Imus used and often boasted about.

I’m not an Imus hater, and have enjoyed his show, during periods when I was not annoyed by it, for many years. Actually, most of his shows included annoying and entertaining moments. I guess that was his gift.

A glaring irony is the fact that just a couple of weeks ago he gleefully joined in the cry for firings of everyone associated with Walter Reed Hospital, and several of them were fired.

He’s only 66 years old? He looks at least 86. Good riddance to him.

I didn't watch Imus because of Imus. He's a grumpy old man. So am I. I loved Fred Kinney and Rob Bartlett and the characters they played. Hilarious.
