Will Gov. Richpigge be ticketed for not wearing his seatbelt, or is that just for the proles?
The biggest problem Corzine faces is the potential for blood clots that can break off and kill him, especially witht he broken bones. They better have him on blood thinners.
Democrats think they are above the law.
Well, Corzines a millionaire, so let him pay his treatment and rehab out of pocket. He can afford it if he drops a mistress or two.
Maybe Mrs. Clinton can explain it to him:”we will take from you...for the common good.” She’s in town anyway.
I don’t think tax money should be spent on injuries caused by his negligence and defiance of laws he’s responsible to uphold.
And I thought I had it bad.
How are you doing, my friend?
A good deal better than Corzine, I hope.
State police said they had not yet confirmed whether Corzine was wearing a seat belt. However, Anthony Coley, the governor's spokesman, said today that it appeared he was not buckled up at the time of the crash. If that was the case, Corzine was in violation of New Jersey law. Unbuckled riders face a citation and a $46 fine under a 1985 state law. The law was amended in 2000 as a "primary offense," meaning that police could pull over and cite a driver or passenger solely for not wearing a seat belt.
No citations have been issued yet in Corzine's case. New Jersey has a seat belt compliance rate of 86 percent, among the highest in the country, according to a 2006 survey of seat belt use conducted by the New Jersey Institute of Technology for the state's Division of Highway Traffic Safety.
He has got some serious injuries.
The nanny staters are cluck clucking over the no seat belt thing. Someone even asked at the White House press conference today if the President wears one in his motorcades. Probably looking for a cause to impeach him for breaking the law.
Prayers for Gov. Corzine and his family.
(And poxes for FReepers who are making snide remarks).
Yep, I’ve never be a Corzine fan, still not, but I hope he gets well again. I wonder why the driver isn’t being charged, this was a hit and run.
According to news reports yesterday, the driver of the red vehicle (apparently the initial cause of the whole thing) was unaware that he had caused the accident. Since his vehicle didn’t come in contact with either of the others, and the actual accident happened behind him, the police apparently believed him when he said he continued driving thinking he had narrowly avoided an accident that was caused by the white vehicle (which is the vehicle that the governor’s driver swerved to avoid). This may well be true, and it’s entirely possible that the driver of the white vehicle was a major cause of the accident (i.e. if he was driving too fast, and swerved in a more out of control manner than was necessary to avoid the red vehicle). I suspect the governor’s vehicle, which reportedly had it’s flashing lights on, was travelling well above the speed limit too. So it may be that the driver of the red vehicle was no more “guilty” than the others (and possible less so), and reasonably believed he hadn’t caused the accident.
