Corzine was sitting in the front passenger seat of the black Chevy Tahoe, alongside his driver, Isn't this against the law in NJ?
That being said, I wish the governor a speedy recovery. This is nothing to laugh at - it's quite serious.

Given the injuries listed, it sounds like the governor may not have been wearing his seatbelt.
To: randita
It will be the drivers fault for not insisting that Corzine have his seat belt on.
The liberal way......blame someone else!

I was listening to WABC this morning and some idiot had the nerve to say it was Imus fault.... “ but if” he did not have to go meet with the Rutgers Basketball team and Imus.”
Perhaps if the NJ voters were smart he would not have been elected.

Isn't this against the law in NJ? What? To sit in the front passenger seat? Are you joking?
If you meant the speculation about not wearing a seatbelt, you should have mentioned that instead.

Isn't this against the law in NJ? I don't think so...my wife and I frequently drive through NJ and, inevitably, one of us is always sitting in the front passenger seat.

Most won’t say this so I’ll be the proxy. I don’t care if he recovers or not. My prayers will not include him (he’s way too far down the list).

Yes, he was supposed to be in the back in his car seat.

Wow, he is in pretty bad shape. These are some serious injuries. It will be quite a while before he is up and about.
What about the other injured? Were they taken in by copter and how are they doing?

This could have been his Fort Marcy Park if he has come out in support of Obama.

I don’t support Corzine politically, but I wish him a speedy and as comfortable a recovery as possible. He is going to be in pain for a long time.
I have driven a few political types in my time. In my experience, they tend to use the vehicle as a moving office to catch up on things. The rule for the driver is that you drive carefully, shut up, and forget everything you have heard. Never have I seen one use a seat belt.

I wish the governor a speedy recovery, too -- though hopefully he'll retire without going back to work as the governor. But if it turns out that he wasn't wearing his seat belt, then this sort of IS something to laugh at. How many people in New Jersey have been issued tickets over the years under the state's mandatory seat belt law, and all this time he's been riding around without a belt on -- BEING DRIVEN BY A NEW JERSEY STATE TROOPER SITTING RIGHT NEXT TO HIM.

Who takes over for Corzine now that he is out of commission? Does anyone know who the Lt. Governor is? This could get interesting.

when the SUV carrying him from Atlantic City to the governor’s mansion swerved and bounced off a wayward vehicle along the Gar den State Parkway, then slammed into a guardrail, officials said.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Why did he swerve? Deer on the road? Whats a wayward vehicle? Somebody else on the road minding their own business? Was he driving the speed limit? Arent State troopers better drivers than the rest of us? Trained drivers.
“swerved and bounced off a wayward vehicle”
Yes, the “ghost vehicle” that “came out of nowhere.”
Does anyone believe that, or is doing 90 through congestion the more likely cause.
No mention in the article of seatbelts, or alcohol being a factor, unlike an accident by an ordinary peon.
Isn't this against the law in NJ? Is what against the law in NJ? Sitting in the front seat? Or being in an SUV? :-)
Chance are he did break the law because just about everything you do is against the law in NJ.
