Yes, and McCarthy wasn't responsible for rooting out commies in Hollywood either as the author states.

My dad guarded McCarthy’s casket. He was in the marine color guard. He was a marine recruiter in Appleton, Wisconsin at the time.

Mrs. McCarthy came to him at one point and said, “Sergeant, these people from the newspapers are saying they are going to spit on my husbands’s body. that’s right and it seems that most liberals don’t know the difference between the two. McCarthy had nothing to do with hollyweird, he was mainly concerned with the communist infiltration in our government agencies like the department of state.
